The 2023 Saint-Véran Les Pommards comes from 50-year-old north-facing vines on clay-limestone soils. It has quite an intense nose, quite yeasty at the moment, very backward and clearly requiring more time to open up and lose that reduction. The palate is very harmonious and quite tensile right from the start, with well-judged acidity and a touch of sour lemon mixed with very subtle liquorice notes towards the finish. Very fine.

Fast in Steinwurfnähe vom Château de Fuisse liegt mitten im Ort die Domaine Robert Denogent. Qualitativ hat sie dem Château schon seit Jahren die Stellung als Nummer 1 abgenommen. Das südliche Burgund war in der Vergangenheit durchaus auf dem Niveau der besten Weißweine der Côte de Beaune.
