Champagne Cuvée 744 Degorgement Tardif Extra Brut
The NV Champagne Cuvée 744 Dégorgement Tardif Extra Brut, based on the 2016 vintage, is composed of 57% Chardonnay, 20% Pinot Noir, and the rest Meunier. It pours a brilliant yellow that looks almost like a yellow diamond in the glass. Fresh pastry, white flowers, crystalline citrus, and delicate spice emerge with a transparency that feels particularly true to the terroirs of the vintage. Medium to full-bodied, it is detailed and energetic, with a refined mousse and excellent length. This is a spectacular wine, with tremendous clarity, energy, and precision, and one that people are going to want to snap up. Aged for 11 months in older French oak foudres with lees stirring, it underwent malolactic fermentation and was disgorged in February 2025 with 2 grams per liter dosage. Drink 2026-2046.
