Lobenberg: Graf Leo de Malet-Roquefort bewohnt das historische Weingut selbst und bewirtschaftet es mit Hilfe des gleichen Teams wie Château Berliquet. Reiches, dichtes Saint-Émilion in der Nase. Süß, üppig, hochreif, aber nicht überreif. Cassis, Brombeere, Schwarzkirsche, nichts tut weh, alles ist fein verwoben. Schoki dahinter, etwas Veilchen. Gut verwoben, gute Harmonie anzeigend. Sexy und opulent. Im Mund hochintensive Schwarzkirsche, viel Schokolade. Gute Frische, die Balance stimmt. Üppiger Saint-Émilion mit guter Harmonie. Archetypisch – so erwartet man Saint-Émilion. Vielleicht nicht meine Liebslings-Ausprägung, dafür ist es mir einfach ein wenig zu üppig in der Mitte, einfach pure filigrane Finesse. Aber ich attestiere, dass alles passt. Sehr guter, ja sehr großer Wein. 98+/100

-- Galloni: The 2020 La Gaffelière is superb. Rich, dense and explosive. Black cherry, gravel, licorice, grilled herbs and menthol race out of the glass. Deep, pliant and explosive, the 2020 is magnificent. At this stage, the 2020 is an infant, but that won't be a problem in a few years. This vivid, statuesque Saint-Émilion is nothing short of thrilling. 98/100

-- Lisa Perrotti Brown: The 2020 La Gaffeliere is composed of 70% Merlot and 30% Cabernet Franc. Deep garnet-purple in color, it soars out of the glass with expressive notes of redcurrant jelly, plum preserves, and kirsch, plus nuances of dark chocolate, violets, pencil lead, and fragrant soil with a waft of crushed rocks. The medium-bodied palate is so tightly wound, featuring very fine layers of red and black fruit intertwined with floral and mineral nuances, supported by highly pixilated, super-ripe tannins and amazing tension, finishing very long and with the energy of an atomic bomb. This is stunning! 98/100

-- Suckling: Deep and intense notes of plums and blackberries with dark chocolate, toasted spices, walnut, crushed graphite and wet stones. Full-bodied with layers of ripe, velvety tannins that flow in a firm stream throughout the palate. Very structured. Delicious chocolate-wrapped black and blue fruit with spiced character and a really long finish. 60% merlot and 40% cabernet franc. Drink from 2028. 97/100

-- Parker: Deep purple-black colored, the 2020 La Gaffeliere gallops out of the glass with exuberant scents of crushed black plums, boysenberries and fresh blackberries, plus hints of eucalyptus, dark chocolate, crushed rocks and iron ore, with a waft of lavender. The medium to full-bodied palate shimmers with compelling energy, delivering layers of black and red berries with fantastic tension and finely grained tannins, finishing very long and wonderfully minerally. 96-98/100

Gerstl über: Chateau La Gaffeliere 1er Grand Cru Classe B

-- Gerstl: Hier ist einfach eine zusätzliche Dimension vorhanden, eine geniale Tiefe und Frische mit noblen Kräutern. Sehr nobles und edles Bouquet mit sehr viel wuchtiger Kirschfrucht, Brombeeren, süsser Cassis aber auch Erdbeere und Himbeere. Veilchenaromen unterschreichen die Eleganz in diesem Wein. Erstaunlich saftig und auch frisch am Gaumen. Zwar ist die Aromenwucht gewaltig, aber die geniale Säure gibt dem Wein diese Leichtigkeit und Balance welche einfach traumhaft ist. Hier scheint einfach alle zu stimmen - viel Druck, Intensität und doch verspielt und leichtfüssig. Ein sagenhaft gut gelungener La Gaffelière. Pirmin Bilger 19/20
