Heiner Lobenberg über:
Victorino Tempranillo 2014
/100

Jeb Dunnuck über: Victorino Tempranillo
-- Jeb Dunnuck: The 2014 Victorino checks in as 100% Tinta de Toro that was brought up all in new French oak. It offers a gorgeous bouquet of black raspberry and cassis-like fruit intermixed with plenty of spicy oak, graphite, and hints of chocolate. With full-bodied richness, a big, mouthfilling texture, ripe tannin, and an undeniably sexy personality, it will benefit from short term cellaring and keep for a decade. 94/100

Suckling über: Victorino Tempranillo
-- Suckling: Dense black fruit character, rich silky tannins and nice freshness. The finish of is really silky in the rather coarse Toro context. Drink now. 93/100

Parker über: Victorino Tempranillo
-- Parker: The 2014 Victorino was also bottled and ready for tasting. 2014 was harvested earlier than 2013, it was more of a 'normal' year and the gapes were picked between September 12th and 29th, with slightly higher yields at 16.5 hectoliters per hectare. The aging was shortened to 18 months, still in 100% new French oak barrels, where the wine also went through malolactic fermentation and was racked every four months. They also consider 2014 a cool vintage for the region, but clearly a tad riper than 2013. The fruit gravitates a little towards black fruit, quite spectacular and focused, with nicely integrated spices from the élevage. The palate is medium to full-bodied with fine-grained tannins, perhaps coated by glossier fruit that give it a little more volume. This is accessible already, but should improve in bottle. 93/100

Galloni über: Victorino Tempranillo
-- Galloni: (produced with de-stemmed grapes and fermented in open-top French oak tanks; malolactic fermentation and 20 months of aging in new French oak barriques ) Youthful violet. Ripe dark berries, cherry cola, vanilla and potpourri on the deeply perfumed nose. Smooth and sweet on entry, then tighter in the midpalate, offering impressively concentrated cherry and blackberry flavors and subtle hints of vanilla, licorice and spicecake. A smoky nuance emerges with air and carries through a wonderfully long, gently tannic finish that echoes the floral and licorice notes. 93/100
