Susana Balbo Signature White Blend
The ‘Queen of Torrontés’ (and 2024 Decanter Hall of Fame award winner) Susana Balbo has long had an affinity for this native Argentinian grape variety – first establishing her connection with it more than four decades ago while working in Salta in northern Argentina. She continues to redefine the variety, most recently by planting new vineyards in the high-elevation Uco Valley, particularly in Paraje Altamira. It is from Altamira that this category-defining white blend hails, combining Torrontés, Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon in a uniquely Argentinian twist on Bordeaux Blanc. Amanda Barnes MW: Inviting leesy notes with bright jasmine, citrus blossom and passion fruit. Exuberant and inviting; complex, delicious with good ageing potential. Florencia Gomez: Graceful complexity and vibrancy with white peach, lychee and freesia evolving into kumquat and peach cream, finishing long and perfumed. Benjamin Gubbins: Aromatic, floral, with citrus and herbaceous notes. Bright with zesty citrus and balancing fruitiness. Aromatic appeal.
