Bei einem Hund würde man sagen: Querdudo... Drei oder mehr Rebsorten aus vielen verschiedenen kleinen Plots und verschiedenen Terroirs und Expositionen und sogar Rebalter... Gemischter Satz in Extremform, zum Teil entrappt und zum Teil als Ganztraube, alles zusammen spontan vergoren im Stahl und dann in Beton, Stahl und Barrique über ein Jahr ausgebaut. Mehr bunte Mischung geht nicht! Sehr feine Tannine mit gutem Druck und mittlerem Körper, spielerisch und tänzelnd, schicker salzig steiniger Abgang vom Granitboden, Rappen und rote Frucht spielen ziemlich perfekt. Ein frischer Zechwein mit unikathaftem Charakter, verblüffend anders aber sooo gut!

The characterful 2018 Alanda Tinto was produced with a blend of Mencía, Bastardo and Garnacha Tintorera from their vineyards with different soils (slate, sand and clay) in different parts within Monterrei. It fermented together with one-third full clusters in stainless steel and concrete and matured in barrique, stainless steel and concrete vats for 15 months; then it was blended and put back in stainless steel for one more year. It has very good freshness, purity of aroma and flavors and a medium-bodied palate, with moderate alcohol and very fine tannins. 13,000 bottles produced. It was bottled in August 2022.

The nose is rich and expressive, with red fruit and flower aromas. The palate is medium- to full-bodied, nervy and fresh, with silky tannins, red berry character and a persistent, flavorful finish. It’s 40% mencia, with the remainder bastardo, mouraton, garnacha tintorera, gran negro and other red varieties. This fermented in a combination of foudre, barriques and cement. Once finished fermentation it ages for two years in tanks. This is an entry-level wine. Drink now.,

Quinta da Muradella ist das Projekt von José Luis Mateo. In Fachkreisen und auch unter Kollegen wird er als der beste Winzer Galiciens gehandelt. 1991 begann er seine große Lebensaufgabe, Winzer zu sein, obwohl es dann noch fast 10 Jahre brauchte, bis der erste etikettierte Wein auf den Markt kam.
