Sherry La Bota de Amontillado Viejisimo 125 "Bota NO"
-- Parker: The NV La Bota de Amontillado 125 “Bota NO” comes from the same source as the La Bota de Amontillado Viejísimo 73 “Bota Aniversario” from 2017 and the La Bota 26 de Amontillado “Cinco años después…” from 2010, an extremely old “NO” wine of exceptional intensity and concentration and spectacular complexity. It's from one of the row-end butts that rested in Pérez Barquero’s Los Amigos cellar for many decades. They have been lucky again to have access to those venerable barrels for this 125th edition bottled in 2023. This is believed to be over 60 years of average age and with a natural 20.5% alcohol through concentration from evaporation. It's old and pungent, with bitterness but not painful. It has aromas of very old wine, iodine, rusty nails, low tide, varnish, nuts and seaweed. The salty/marine side is very noticeable, peaty and smoky too, and with a very powerful mouthfeel, tasty, long and salty. 1,300 half bottles were filled in 2023.
