Sattes gelbes und weißes Steinobst in der Nase mit Zitronengras, Mango und Papaya. Leichte pfeffrige Note dazu. Sehr druckvoll und frisch zugleich. Die Nase macht echt Spaß! Guter fleischiger mittlerer Gaumen. Einen der wenigen Weißweine aus 2024, die so viel Druck ausüben! Grüner Aprikosenkern, weißer Pfirsich, wieder Mango und wieder pfeffrige Papaya. Dazu eine tolle Maracuja-Säure. Sehr gut verwoben! Keiner der ganz großen Jahrgänge von Domaine de Chevalier Blanc, aber ein sehr gelungener. Einer der überragenden Weißweine des Jahrgangs 2024. *** Die im Süden von Pessac-Léognan liegende Domaine de Chevalier ist inzwischen einer der absoluten Superstars der Region in Sachen Rotwein, in Sachen Weißwein sowieso und auch schon viel länger. Nicht wenige halten Domaine de Chevalier Blanc und Smith Haut Lafitte Blanc für die beiden absolut besten Weißweine aus Bordeaux. Zumindest im bezahlbaren Bereich, denn La Mission weiß und Haut-Brion weiß sind einfach in der Kommasetzung jenseits von Gut und Böse.

Dieser extrem rare Jahrgang 2024 besticht durch seine noble, fast burgundische Leichtigkeit und eine messerscharfe Finesse, die an den legendären 1988er erinnert. UND er begeistert mit sehr geschliffenen Seidentanninen, animierender Frische und einem wunderbar unbeschwerten, sexy Trinkfluss. Perfekt für den frühen Genuss!

Beautiful perfumed aromas of fine cream, meringue, ripe guava and spices. Bright and acid-driven with medium to full body and a long, scented finish. Bone-dry and textured. Not a year of huge concentration, but a lot of freshness, length and energy make this a wine to consider seriously. 75% sauvignon blanc and 25% semillon.

I’ve fallen once more – completely and helplessly…Just one sip, and I’m completely disarmed, weak at the knees. There is no doubt: the 2024 vintage marks yet another legendary moment for Domaine de Chevalier (White). The tasting experience it offers echoes the ethereal grace described in Rhapsody on the Luo Goddess: “Like the moon veiled by drifting clouds, like snow caught in a swirling breeze.” It is refreshing without being light, generous without ever flaunting it – and somehow, it always finds the perfect moment to break through your defenses with the gentlest of gestures. There’s no overt acidity; instead, the wine tucks its blade-like freshness into a body as tender as crystal fruit jellies. Just when you’re lost in its silky allure, it turns around and catches you with a backward glance – one laced with minerality – and you’re hopelessly conquered. This wine is impossibly beautiful. In its presence, I found it hard to restrain my emotions in its company. Heartfelt thanks to the Domaine de Chevalier team for giving us such a magical tasting. I can’t wait to meet it again.

Komplexes und subtiles Bouquet mit Noten von Limettenschale, Zitronengras, Anis und Pfirsich. Die Subtilität wird auch am Gaumen unterstrichen. Der Wein setzt ambitioniert auf Finesse und Präzision. Er ist prägnant, tiefgründig und mitreißend. Ein sehr großer Domaine de Chevalier, der sicherlich für viele Generationen zu einer unverzichtbaren Referenz des Weinguts werden wird. Salziger, langanhaltender Abgang, ideal von feinen Bitternoten untermalt. 2029-2069

Bright yellow colour with green hue. Elegant nose with quite complex approach, grapefruit zest and tangerine, kumquats, lemon balm, hints of starfruit in the background. Pineapples, vanilla, orange, and yellow citrus notes emerge from the perfume. On the palate, the wine presents waves of racy, sweet tropical fruits, lemon rind, white peach, mango, and crisp green apples from start to finish. This is a top vintage for Domaine de Chevalier Blanc, which you can enjoy in its youth or age for more complexity. Either way, it is a treat. The wine blends 75% Sauvignon Blanc with 25% Semillon, 12.8% ABV. The harvest took place September 4 - September 16. Drink from 2026-2038.

The 2024 Domaine de Chevalier Blanc has it all. Powerful yet elegant, deep yet light on its feet, the 2024 is a wine of contrasts and harmony that will thrill readers for many years to come. Nothing in particular stands out, rather it is the wine's balance that carries the day. Chamomile, crushed flowers, chalk and a hint of new oak run through a core of citrus-tinged fruit. The long, sustained finish is remarkable. Superb. Tasted two times.

After a little shaking, notes of fresh pears, lemon pie, and lime blossoms slowly emerge from the glass, leading to touches of coriander seed and wet pebbles. The light-bodied palate is tightly wound and intense with mineral and citrus layers giving way to a long, chalky finish. Classic great, age-worthy DDC Blanc!

Das ist ein sagenhaft raffinierter Duft, zitrische Frische steht im Zentrum, daneben ist es fast pure Mineralität, ein die Sinne betörendes Parfüm, superfein aber irre komplex. Das ist eine sagenhafte Chevalier Delikatesse, ganz zart, beinahe zerbrechlich, trotzdem ist da eine eindrückliche aromatische Vielfalt, das ist unglaublich raffiniert, stilistisch gleicht er einem grossen weissen Burgunder, geht sagenhaft in die Länge. Feinduftig, frisch, komplex, würzig, tiefgründig, steinig, kühl, exotische Früchte mischen sich mit Salzzitrone; straffer Gaumen, zupackend, frisch, der Wein hat Struktur, zeigt Eleganz, gradlinig, fast schon burgundisch anmutend, präzise Säure, salziges, langes Finale. The 2024 Domaine de Chevalier Blanc was cropped between September 4 and 16 at 48 hl/ha, with just a tad more Sauvignon in the blend this year. There is impressive intensity on the nose with scents of apple blossom, orange cordial and hints of yellow flowers. It unfolds wonderfully in the glass. The palate is well balanced with a winsome, slightly resinous texture, notes of ginger-infused orange pith and wild peach flavours. Very harmonious and tensile on the finish, this is gearing up to be a superb Domaine de Chevalier Blanc that could well end up at the upper end of my banded score.
