In der Nase total auf Holunder mit so viel Minze und Lakritze. Ätherische Frische zeigend. Dazu etwas Graphit mit Cassis. Im Mund sehr elegant, schlank mit gutem Schliff. Brillante Frische mit leichten Heidelbeernoten. Im Mund mit guter Länge und feinem Tannindruck. Im Finale sind diese Tannine noch etwas harsch, werden sich aber sicher gut einbinden in den nächsten fünf bis zehn Jahren. Kein großer, aber durchaus klassischer Pauillac. ,

Dieser extrem rare Jahrgang 2024 besticht durch seine noble, fast burgundische Leichtigkeit und eine messerscharfe Finesse, die an den legendären 1988er erinnert. UND er begeistert mit sehr geschliffenen Seidentanninen, animierender Frische und einem wunderbar unbeschwerten, sexy Trinkfluss. Perfekt für den frühen Genuss!

A bright and slightly spicy Pauillac led by vivid acidity and a touch of peppercorns. Red berries and cherries with juicy fruit and medium to full body. Tannins are firm and quite fine-grained. Long but not dense at the end. 68% cabernet sauvignon, 26% merlot and 6% petit verdot. 12.9% alcohol.,

The 2024 Haut-Batailley races across the palate with masses of dark fruit, menthol, licorice, espresso and dried herbs. Floral overtones reappear on the finish, adding a refined touch. Powerful yet polished, the 2024 is quite impressive. This feels a bit less extracted than the first vintages under the leadership of the Cazes family, not a bad thing at all in my view. Very fine. Tasted two times.

Delikater Mix aus roten und schwarzen Früchten, verbunden mit tiefgründiger und kühler Terroiraromatik. Die wunderschön reifen Aromen von schwarzer Kirsche, Brombeere, Cassis, Sauerkirsche, Johannisbeere und Himbeere strahlen kräftig aus dem Glas. Cremig weicher Auftakt mit delikatem Fruchtschwall und würzigem Hintergrund. Die Säure verleiht dem Wein eine genüssliche Saftigkeit und Frische, lässt ihn über den Gaumen schweben. Im Finale sanfte und noble Röstaromen nach Kaffee. (pb)

Creme de cassis, cigar wrappers, flowers, and cherries fill the perfume. The palate is fresh, lively, medium-bodied, and frankly, best described as charming, with its early, drinking, vibrant character. It is interesting to note this is the 100th vintage for the Casteja family. The bottles will feature a special label, and buyers can order the wine in limited edition, 2.25 liter bottles. The wine is a blend of 81% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Merlot, and 4% Petit Verdot. 13.5% ABV. Harvesting took place September 2 - October 8. Drink from 2029-2045.
