Wine Enthusiast über: Chateau Grand Puy Ducasse 5eme Cru

-- Wine Enthusiast: From one of the lesser-known Pauillac crus classés, this wine shows plenty of fine structure as well as ripe black currant fruits from the Cabernet Sauvignon in the blend. It is also the succulent fruitiness that shines, lending to a good future. 94-96/100

Jeb Dunnuck über: Chateau Grand Puy Ducasse 5eme Cru

-- Jeb Dunnuck: The 2019 Château Grand-Puy Ducasse checks in as 53% Cabernet Sauvignon and 47% Merlot from 35-year-old vines and classic Pauillac gravelly soils. It's a deep, concentrated version of this wine, offering sensational blackcurrant and blueberry fruits intermixed with lots of chocolate, tobacco, and damp earth aromas and flavors. Superb on the palate as well, with full-bodied richness, a voluptuous texture, and loads of ripe tannins, it's unquestionably the finest vintage of this cuvée I've tasted. Bravo! 93-95+/100

Galloni über: Chateau Grand Puy Ducasse 5eme Cru

-- Galloni: The 2019 Grand Puy Ducasse is a stunning wine. In 2019, the Grand Vin is statuesque and towering in its beauty, with tons of fruit intensity but none of the harder edges that have characterized some previous vintages. The 2019 has found a way to capture an intense, flamboyant expression of fruit without being too much, as some vintages have been. The result is an absolutely stunning Grand Puy Ducasse that is also the best in recent memory. Raspberry jam, blood orange, mint, pomegranate and spice all build into the beautifully layered finish. Tasted two times. 93-95/100

Parker über: Chateau Grand Puy Ducasse 5eme Cru

-- Parker: The 2019 Grand-Puy-Ducasse has a very deep purple-black color, slowly unfurling in the glass to offer profound notes of baked black plums, warm cassis and blackberry jam with touches of cedar chest, menthol, mocha and black olives plus a waft of lavender. The medium to full-bodied palate is built like a brick house, with a firm texture of ripe, grainy tannins and bold freshness supporting the generous black fruit preserves, finishing with a lingering minty lift 92-94/100

Wine Cellar Insider über: Chateau Grand Puy Ducasse 5eme Cru

-- Wine Cellar Insider: Fleshy, ripe and loaded with cassis, blackberry and espresso, the wine is medium/full-bodied, round and juicy, which is perfect for all the fruit and mineral essences in the long, vibrant finish. 92-94/100

Suckling über: Chateau Grand Puy Ducasse 5eme Cru

-- Suckling: This is chewy and structured with slightly austere tannins, but shows solid intensity. Ripe yet fresh fruit. Tannic.92-93/100
