Lobenberg: Liegt auf einem Kalksteinplateau. Überwiegend Semillon. In der Nase nicht ganz so ausdrucksstark wie Doisy Daene. Es fehlt der strukturierende, feine, mineralische Bitterstoff. Aber die Süße ist fein. Nicht fett, nicht pappig. Das ist wirklich ein feines Jahr hier in Barsac. Macht viel Freude. Nicht zu viel Exotik. Sehr viel klare Steinobstfrucht. Sehr harmonischer Mund mit viel Frische. Gäbe es Doisy Daene und Climens nicht in Barsac, ich wäre begeistert. Den beiden muss er sich aber klar beugen. 95-96/100

Oh that's lovely. Ginger and sumac spice, and a gorgeous richness with the perfect balance of minerality. Rich but pure botrytis character and gently curling smoky notes leap out of the glass. Amazing persistency, easily one of the best wines in the tasting. This is excellent; succulent and mouthwatering.

Helles Goldgelb. Was für ein Bouquet! Es ist von Mineralik und Düften von grünen Äpfeln geprägt, kurz gesagt es ist frisch. Mit etwas Luft, treten Noten von Pfefferminze und dunkle Schokolade auf. Dichter und rassiger Charakter am Gaumen. Der Wein ist cremig, hat Spannung und sehr gute Aussichten was die Zukunft angeht. Geduld ist angesagt. Ein großer Coutet.

Coutet’s wines are refined, restrained and refreshing in the richest of vintages, so in a year like 2016, they are even more so. This is a focused, taut, beautifully balanced Barsac with subtle reduction, citrus and grapefruit notes and a dusting of vanilla spice.
