Jeb Dunnuck über: Chateau Clos L’Eglise

-- Jeb Dunnuck: The 2019 Clos L'Eglise is straight-up terrific, offering a deeper, richer, powerful style as well as the freshness and purity of the vintage. Giving up lots of ripe dark cherry, mulberries, graphite, spicy oak, and a kiss of minerality, it hits the palate with full-bodied richness, ripe yet building, polished tannins, terrific overall balance, and a great finish. It shows the more tight, compact style of the vintage, yet the purity is spot on, it has good concentration, and it’s just a brilliant wine. It needs to be forgotten for 4-5 years and will evolve for 30 years. 96+/100

Suckling über: Chateau Clos L’Eglise

-- Suckling: Super aromas of ripe berries, blackberries and black cherries with lavender. It’s full-bodied and very structured with electrifying tannins that are polished and poised. 96-97/100

Wine Cellar Insider über: Chateau Clos L’Eglise

-- Wine Cellar Insider: Black and blue fruit, dark, bitter chocolate, flowers, smoke, cherries, plums, wet earth and forest floor aromatics open the perfume. But it is on the palate where the wine really rocks with its layers of concentrated, rich, opulent, sex bomb textured fruits. The finish packs a punch with its chocolate-covered, dark red, silky pit fruits. The wine was made from a blend of 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc, reaching 14.5% alcohol. 95-97/100

Neal Martin über: Chateau Clos L’Eglise

-- Neal Martin: The 2019 Clos l'Eglise offers ripe black cherries, wild strawberry, hints of liquorice and marmalade on the nose, well-defined, quite extravagant but not excessive. It reflects the growing season. The palate is sweet and caressing in texture on the entry thanks to the saturated tannins. Good depth here, that liquorice note reappearing towards the finish that exerts a gentle grip, then delivers a long spicy aftertaste. Great potential, a Pomerol that should give 20-30 years of drinking pleasure. 94-96/100
