Schwarze Kirsche, Cassis ohne Zucker. Ein schicker Geradeauslauf, feine Lakritze darunter, nichts Süßes. Gehört zu den Saint-Émilions des Jahrgangs, die diesen neuen Weg der Eleganz eingeschlagen haben. Große Freude in seiner spielerischen, burgundischen Art! Der Mund ist spielerisch-lecker, aber auch hier wieder ganz fein. Was Beychevelle für Saint-Julien ist, kann Bécot mit Pavie Macquin und anderen für Saint-Émilion darstellen. So verspielt, so fein, so delikat! Die Tannine sind seidig, das Ganze tänzelt endet in einem wunderbaren Finale. In acht bis zehn Jahren ein Top Burgunderwert. Was für eine Schönheit, sehr schick! *** Beau-Séjour Bécot liegt auf bestem Terroir an den Hängen Saint-Émilions, oben auf dem Plateau. Reiner Kalkstein mit etwas Lehm. Das Weingut ist der direkte Nachbar von Angélus und Coutet und seit Jahren stark im Aufwind, seit Jahren immer besser, weil der Neuholz-Einsatz zurückgefahren wird. Die Weine werden balancierter. Das Terroir ist allemal gut genug, um in der ersten Reihe zu stehen.

Der Ausnahme-Jahrgang 2022 gilt als eine der konzentriertesten und reichsten Saisons aller Zeiten – trotz extremer Sommerhitze bestechen die Top-Weine mit monumentaler Dichte, einer überraschend tiefen Säurestruktur und beispiellosem Lagerpotenzial.

The 2022 Beau-Séjour Bécot has turned out brilliantly in bottle. Wafting from the glass with a complex bouquet of sweet wild berries mingled with rose petals, orange zest, violets, gentian and espresso roast, it's full-bodied, supple and suave, with a deep core of cool, layered fruit, beautifully vibrant flavors and polished structuring tannins, concluding with a saline finish. As I wrote when I tasted it from barrel, this is a Saint-Émilion of breathtaking perfume and harmony that will be worth a special effort to seek out.

The 2022 Beau-Séjour Bécot is a total stunner. What a wine! The 2022 was magnificent en primeur, and it is all that from bottle. The aromatics alone are mesmerizing. Crushed rose petal, mint, blood orange, new leather and cedar meld into a core of pliant red-toned fruit. More than anything else, I am so impressed with the wine's precision and finesse. I have never tasted a Beau-Séjour Bécot like this.

Opulent, Fragrant, Blue Fruit, Violets, Roses, Cedar, Medium to Full bodied, Refreshing Acidity, Notable Oak, Grainy Texture, High Tannin, Needs Time. The 2022 Beau-Sejour Becot was aged for 16 months: 55% in new French oak barrels and 20% in one-wine old barrels, with the remaining 25% in amphorae and foudres. The blend is 76% Merlot, 22% Cabernet Franc, and 2% Cabernet Sauvignon, with a pH of 3.55. Deep garnet-purple colored, it swans out with showy aromas of kirsch, juicy plums, and wild blueberries, leading to hints of lilacs, rose oil, pipe tobacco, and licorice, with a touch of cedar. The medium to full-bodied palate is a vortex of energetic black and red berry layers, co-mingled with impressive tension and supported by very fine-grained tannins, finishing long with lots of mineral and floral sparkles. An absolute head-turner—stunning!

Tasted on multiple occasions, the 2022 Château Beau-Séjour Bécot is flat-out sensational, as well as the finest wine I’ve tasted from this château. Powerful aromatics of red, blue, and black fruits as well as crushed stone and violets define the aromatics, and it’s full-bodied, incredibly concentrated, has integrated acidity, and ultra-fine tannins. Based on 76% Merlot, 22% Cabernet Franc, and the rest Cabernet Sauvignon, this heavenly Saint-Emilion will benefit from just 3-5 years of bottle age and have 30 years or more of overall longevity. Back up the truck.

With a little extra Cabernet Franc this year (22%), 'BSB' is even more precise and distinguished, asserting its juicy, racy profile, a signature of the limestone plateau. The wine is beautifully defined, full of sparkle and marked by a lace of blush tannins: the full, sappy juice stretches out in length, is salivating from start to finish, and is concluded by fine zesty bitters, a magnificent punctuation mark that makes it superb today and exciting for years to come.,
