-- Jeb Dunnuck: I loved the 2023 Ermitage Le Pavillon, a gorgeous wine in the making. Pure crème de cassis, graphite, ozone, crushed stone, and liquid violet notes all shine here, and it's concentrated, has a pure, focused mouthfeel, flawless balance, and a great finish. Based on 100% Syrah that was 85% destemmed, it spent 18 months in 70% Burgundy barrels and 30% demi-muids (15% new). It's not going to be for the instant gratification crowd, but it's a magical, possibly legendary wine in the making.
