Champagne Extra Brut Terroirs Blanc de Blancs Grand Cru Flaschengärung

Lobenberg 95

Lobenberg: Chardonnay aus reinen Grand Cru Lagen der Cote de Blancs, Kreide und Kalkböden. Biologisch-organische Weinbergsarbeit. Handlese, Ganztraubenpresse. 95/100

-- Parker: Agraparts’ NV Brut Blanc de Blancs Terroirs F13 is – as usual for this cuvee – sourced roughly half-each from two vintages (here, complementary 2009 and 2008); grown entirely in Avize, Cramant, Oger and Oiry; vinified roughly one-quarter in demi-muid; and aged one year longer sur latte than their “7 Crus.” Effusively sweet and musky floral perfume suggesting heliotrope, narcissus, and lily-of-the-valley along with sourdough-like, pungent yeastiness and malted grain are allied in the nose to intimations of chalk dust, sea breeze and white peach. Lusciously juicy, fresh white peach and grapefruit are threaded on the polished palate with piquant peach kernel, pungent suggestions of sprouting grains, chalk, and salt. The sense of tension and vivacity here managing to harmonize with textural richness and caress is quite remarkable, especially considering that we’re only on the second rung of Agrapart’s portfolio. The finish engages imagination, salivary glands, and olfactors in equally strong measure, a suggestion of chewing peach fuzz and germinating sprouts compounding the sheer invigoration conveyed by this sensational value. (And bear in mind that this tasting note was made from a bottle that had only been disgorged a week before!) Plan to follow it for at least 4-5 years. 94/100

-- Galloni: Agrapart's NV Extra Brut Blanc de Blancs Terroirs Grand Cru is deep, rich and vinous. The interplay of citrus-driven intensity and textural breadth is a marvel to watch. Scents of lemon confit, white flowers and mint build into the precise, exceptionally vibrant finish. The Terroirs is another absolutely compelling Champagne from Agrapart. Don't miss it. The current release is a blend of equal parts 2013 and 2012 done partly in cask and partly in steel. The low dosage of 5 grams per liter is well judged. Disgorged: March 2016.94/100

7 g/l Restzucker, max. 50 mg/l SO²).

-- Suckling: Very pure and fragrant, with attractive aromas of bread and fresh hazelnuts, cashew nuts, light lemons and grapefruit. The palate has a scintillatingly pure, grapefruit and dry-lemon core, and a chalky, fresh-pear and lime finish. Superb freshness! A very restrained blend of four Grand Cru parcels of 20 to 50-year-old vines and a blend of 2013 (60 per cent) and 2014 (40 per cent). Drink or hold. 96/100
