Ikewen Tinto
The 2024 Ikewen Tinto has a little more structure and tannin because of the low juice-to-skin ratio, which he compared with 2018, a cooler and very good year. This wine now has its identity, especially the nose—you can see it as soon as you smell it, but it's not easy to describe. It has notes of strawberry and volcanic ash, something floral, violets, a minty and herbal note, spices, white pepper and a little bit of iron. The nose is beautiful, subtle and elegant, nuanced and very attractive. The palate is medium-bodied, with good ripeness, a contained 12% alcohol, a pH of 3.7, fine tannins and very good balance. There will be around 6,000 bottles. Only 15% of the volume matured in barrel.
