Salinillas liegt in Fortsetzung der atemberaubenden Hügelorte hinter San Vicente, Labastida und Brinas. Eigentlich eine Exclave von Labastida. Nahe am Ebro. Südexpositiondirekt an der Sierra Cantabria. Quartzsand, Kreide, Gips, roter Lehm. Kraftvoll und mineralisch mit sattem Tannin, fast ein wenig Blockbuster, und dennoch nicht fett im Mund. Toller saftiger Fluss. Sicherlich mit oder gar vor dem Lindes Labastida der ob seiner Balance und zugleich Power spannendste Wein der Lindes Reihe von Telmos Freunden, der massive, mineralische und zugleich unerhört reife und saftige Wein hat den Hang zur wirklichen Größe.

Der hocharomatische Ausnahme-Jahrgang 2021 begeistert in Spanien mit einer Frische, die ihresgleichen sucht. Nach sommerlichem Trockenstress brachte ein goldener, kühler Herbst den sensationellen Wendepunkt. Die dickschaligen Trauben liefern langlebige Weine voller Rasse, reifer Tannine und vibrierender Säure.

The 2021 Viñedos de Salinillas de Buradón comes from a parish of Labastida, the westernmost place bottled in the Lindes project, a very small place with 117 inhabitants and currently 47 hectares of vineyards in total. From two growers, they get the grapes from 4.5 of these hectares to produce 20,000 bottles. It has a lactic twist, notes of wild berries and flowers and herbs. It's medium to full-bodied, textured, fine-grained and tasty, clean and focused. It's surprisingly fresh and elegant, but it's also powerful and ripe, coming in at 14.6% alcohol but with all in balance. It was bottled in June 2023.

Salinillas is one of the coldest villages in Rioja - and the only one that's located on the northern, Atlantic-facing side of the Sierra de Cantabria. Based on Garnacha, with smaller contributions from Tempranillo, Graciano and white grapes, this is a serious, firm, single-site Rioja with top notes of vanilla, thyme and gingerbread, textured tannins and a racy bramble and red berry core. 2027-35
