Der vom Cool-Climate geprägte Jahrgang 2024 gilt in Spanien bei den Top-Winzern als grandioser Erfolg. Deutlich schlanker und kühler als 2023, bestechen die Weine dank extrem zeitiger Lese mit vibrierender Rasse, brillanter Frische und einer aufregenden, glasklaren Struktur auf dem Niveau der Legendenjahre.

Parker über: MA Doña Blanca

The 2024 Doña Blanca was produced with grapes from old vines in Villalibre de la Jurisdicción, vines that are worked organically but not yet certified. It fermented in used 228- and 500-liter barrels, where it matured for two springs with the full lees. It has a bright golden color and a floral and subtle nose; this grape is more about the texture and mouthfeel than the nose. The wine went through full malolactic and has contained alcohol, around 12.5%, and very good acidity. There are no lactic or oaky hints. The sapidity comes from the extended contact with the lees and from the slate soils. 2,300 bottles produced. It was bottled in June 2026.

Aromas of brine, green almonds and dried lemons. Incisive and subtly bitter, medium- to full-bodied, yet highly stimulating on the palate, with a savory finish and a touch of ripeness at the end. Bright and savory throughout. Aged for 16 months in 225-liter French oak barrels with full malolactic fermentation. Brilliant. Drink or hold.
