Parker über: Bahierra

I love the nuanced and complex nose of the red 2023 Bahierra, from a single vineyard that they harvested early in 2023, and that seems to have worked nicely, making it nuanced and fine-boned. It has some 65% red grapes and 35% white, fermented and aged like a red; it includes some very old Garnacha and Viura on five terraces and 35-year-old Tempranillo. It spent two winters in barrels and concrete eggs. It comes in at 13.9% alcohol, with a pH of 3.7 and five grams of acidity. Aromatic and delicate, with notes of red berries and a fresh touch of citrus peel, it's elegant and has a medium-bodied palate and very fine tannins. 900 bottles produced. It was bottled in March 2025.

Suckling über: Bahierra

Mineral, vibrant plums with berries, cherries and a touch of spices. The precise, juicy, medium-bodied palate is evenly packed with red fruit. Tannins are firm, fresh but polished. Quite a long finish. A blend of tempranillo, garnacha and about one-third white varieties. Drink now or hold.
