Im Gegensatz zur Gravonia Crianza besteht die Reserva auch aus Malvasia, das gibt einen zusätzlichen Kick an perfümiertem, blumigen, exotischem Aroma. Die Viura ist puristisch wie in der Crianza, gewachsen auf Kreide, Kalkstein und weißem Lehm. Die Weißweine stehen immer auf hellen, kargen Böden. Spontanvergärung in Jahunderte alten Holzfässern, dann Ausbau mindestens 6 Jahre im uralten Barrique. Holzfrei aber entwickelt. Wahnsinnig jung und frisch, geradaus, und zugleich diese blumige Reife. Tondonia ist einer der Welt-Maßstäbe für perfekt gereifte Weine.

The 2015 Viña Tondonia Blanco Reserva, from vines averaging 63 years of age, comes from a year with very good rain and even snow and a warm summer and end of the season that resulted in an early harvest, earlier than 2014. The wine matured in well-seasoned American oak barrels for six years. It's amazing, because the wine is paler than the 2018 Gravonia. It has a youth and freshness that is unbelievable, because 2015 was warm, powerful and ripe and the alcohol went up in very little time, but the wine has freshness and balance, very good acidity and a vibrant mouthfeel. It has the 'white Tondonia' nose and a surprising palate. It comes in at 12.5% alcohol, a pH of 3.3 and 6.6 grams of acidity. It was probably the surprise of the tasting, well above the expectations. 21,100 bottles produced. It was bottled in December 2023.

One of those wines that is frustratingly difficult to track down – there are only 21,000 bottles to satisfy its legions of fans – the white Viña Tondonia Reserva is a complex, separately fermented blend of Viura and 10% Malvasía. A wine that ages at glacial speed, it combines aromas of saffron and wild mushroom with a palate of lemon rind, dried honey and macadamia nut, lots of extract and effortless complexity.
