La Loma & Los Santos
The white 2021 La Loma & Los Santos was produced with 60% Macabeo and 40% Garnacha Blanca from 50- to 60-year-old vines on limestone and slate soils. It fermented in concrete after a 24-hour maceration and matured in 500- and 900-liter oak barrels for 14 months. It has 13.5% alcohol and a low pH denoting freshness and good acidity. In this cooler year, the wine is more floral and citrus, more nuanced and elegant, with tasty flavors, a sapid sensation a salty twist and the dry finish from the limestone soils, beautifully textured. It's a more complete wine than the 2020—tight, energetic, persistent. Superb. 3,1223 bottles were filled in March 2023.
