Lobenberg: 100% Macabeo. Gekühlte Ganztraubenmaische der aus alten Reben stammenden Trauben. Nach 2 Tagen abgepresst und im offenen 1000 Liter Holzfass vergoren. Ausbau danach ohne Batonnage im 500 Liter gebrauchten Tonneau. Blasses Gelb. Blumig mineralische Zitrusnase, Salz und Stein dazu, extrem klart und transparent und reintönig. Coller Geradeauslauf, sehr focussiert. Fast ohne Druck, leicht und schwebend und doch sehr intensiv für ein langes Leben. Ein ganz großer, ganz klarer Weißwein, großes transparentes Mineral-Kino! 100/100

-- Parker: The white 2019 El Jardín de las Iguales Macabeo comes from their iconic old vineyard planted that was in 1890 and is in transition to be certified organic in 2022. It has similar parameters as those from the 2020 that I tasted next to it, with just a tad more freshness and acidity. 2019 was a very complete vintage in the zone, when they picked the grapes on September 6, delivering low yields and powerful wines. This is more austere and less Burgundian (more Jura?); it has less fat and is slimmer, with more tension and nice balance. It has complexity and notes of iodine, lemon peel and pollen. It finishes with a salty twist. Only 802 bottles were filled in April 2021. 96+/100

-- Weingut: Every wine grows from the soil and El Jardín de las Iguales’ is truly one of a kind. Bodegas Frontonio was given the privilege to acquire such a precious piece of land. These vines are so sensitive that they get to connect with their caretaker. We have so decided to guide our actions based on respect and comprehension. At the end of the day, people come and go, but the land remains. Toscana sunshine yellow colour. Yuzu, wild fennel and flint. Sharp entrance in palate with direct acidity. Succulent texture. Sophistication of spiced hints that will last almost infinitely.

Angefangen hat bei Fernando Mora alles mit seiner Badewanne zu Hause in Saragossa, dort machte er seine ersten Gehversuche als Winemaker. Und das Ergebnis war durchaus trinkbar. Hochmotiviert war das der Anlass, nach geeigneten Weinbergen und Parzellen zu suchen.
