Château Le Chatelet 2025 is like a poetess of the Graceful School of Chinese lyricism, gentle and perceptive, drawing you closer withour effort. Strawberry juice releases a distinctive sweetness, touched with a hint of pride yet never affected. Roses seem to rise slowly before you, they seem almost to release their own dew. The tannins, like Su embroidery, are woven thread by thread within the wine, quietly holding this sense of juiciness and softness in place. There is no doubt that 2025 stands as a defining moment for the estate, and it affirms that Julien’s vision was well judged.

So perfumed on the nose, like smelling a bunch of wild pink and purple flowers. Crisp and finessed, you get crunchy cool fruit with really fine, delicate and well supportive tannins that softly grip the palate and hold on to a long finish. Great work and great quality. Full of flavour. Just a gorgeous expression - classic, ripe but cool, smooth, grippy and charming. Delicious. 3.5pH. Ageing 14 months, 34% new barrels, 28% one year, 18% amphora, 15% foudre, 5% vats.

Yves Beck über: Chateau le Chatelet Grand Cru Classe

The bouquet of the Châtelet 2025 is characterized by its attention to detail, definition and freshness. Notes of peonies blend with aromas of black cherries and blackberries, complemented by a hint of cocoa bean… which, incidentally, is often found in this region! The finesse of the attack heralds a harmonious and precise wine. It boasts perfectly integrated tannins that lend it appreciable power, whilst the acidity works behind the scenes to provide energy, vigor and freshness. A structured, elegant, linear and assertive wine. It knows how to deploy its vigor with tact and precision.  2029–2050

Jeb Dunnuck über: Chateau le Chatelet Grand Cru Classe

Coming from limestone and clay-limestone soils on the upper plateau, the 2025 Château Le Châtelet is a beautiful Saint-Emilion Grand Cru Classé based on 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc. Its deep ruby/plum hue is followed by a gorgeous bouquet of cassis, juicy blue fruits, spring flowers, and graphite. On the palate, it's beautifully textured and medium to full-bodied, with fine tannins and the higher yet nicely integrated acidity of the vintage.
