Lobenberg: Das zweite Jahr in Folge legt dieser Nachbar von Troplong Mondot einen grandiosen Wein hin, tief und würzig und voller Spiel und Finesse, die feinere und elegantere Version von Troplong. Ich liebe diesen Wein. 96-98/100

-- Decanter: The makings of an exceptional wine in 2019 which, for me, narrowly beats the 2018, balancing excellent definition, succulence, ripeness of fruit, velvety sleek tannins, acidity and menthol minerality. Fragrant black fruits on the nose with rose and violet reflections, some cola, crayon, liquorice and tobacco too. Quite nuanced and expressive but subtle, not shouting. Cool and crunchy on the palate, you can feel the weight straight away but not in a ripe way, more in a smooth velvety way, textured - tannins are plush and softly chalky, this has confidence while having blueberry, cherry, mint and crushed stone flavours with such clarity and purity. It has muscle and is flexing it right now, still so youthful but well defined and presented. More variation between the first and second wines in 2019 with this stealing the show. This is a force to be reckoned with and considered 'a perfect vintage' for estate manager Christophe Dussutour, that 'has everything'. 98/100

-- Suckling: Aromas and flavors of dark fruit, plums, mushrooms, pine cones, cedar and tile. Full-bodied, yet reserved, with ultra-fine tannins that spread across the palate. So layered and beautiful. Hints of crushed stone and deep earth on the finish. Steely at the end. Give this time. Try after 2025. 97/100

-- Weinwisser: Dichtes Purpur mit rubinroten Reflexen. Würzig-rauchiger Beginn, da spürt man bereits den hohen Cabernet Franc-Anteil, getrocknete Brombeerstauden, Rosmarin und tiefgründige Mineralik, dahinter blaue Beeren und helles Edelholz. Am eleganten Gaumen mit genialer Rasse und engmaschigem Tanningerüst, man spürt das Plus an Eleganz, schwebt förmlich durch den Raum, auch dank der Frische, die den massiven Körper komplett umschliesst. Im gebündelten Finale schwarze kleine Beeren, Wacholder und Graphitspuren. Erinnert Jean-Philippe Castéja an 2015 mit mehr Kraft und längerem Finale. 18.5/20 95-96/100

-- Wine Cellar Insider: Dark garnet in hue, the wine is full-bodied, concentrated and intense. The unique sensation of minerality is on full display here with all its rocks, stones and oceanic character. The fruit is vibrant, round, sweet, long and clean. Everything is in harmony here. The complex aromatic's along with the richly textured, concentrated mouthfeel, silky tannins and long finish is just great. Give it 7-9 years of aging before pulling a cork and enjoy it over the next 20 years or so. Made from a blend of 49% Cabernet Franc, 48% Merlot and 3% Cabernet Sauvignon. 94-96/100
