Lobenberg: Bin 28 ist ein Klassiker, gehört quasi zum festen Portfolio. Shiraz in Urform, kräftig und würzig im Bouquet, dabei offen und charmant und mit Aromen von dunklen Beeren, getrockneter Pflaume und etwas Veilchen. Am Gaumen mittelkräftig, geschmeidige Tannine und viel Schmelz. Überzeugt in jedem Jahr, ein archetypischer, moderner »Neue-Welt-Shiraz«. Man kann hiermit nichts falsch machen. 93/100

-- Galloni: Deep, bright-rimmed ruby. Smoke-tinged cherry liqueur, cassis and licorice scents, along with hints of cured tobacco and mocha. Gently sweet and lush on the palate, offering concentrated dark fruit, floral pastille and roasted coffee flavors that are sharpened by a peppery nuance. The long, supple finish echoes the dark berry note and is framed by velvety, even tannins. Made in all used American oak. 93/100

-- Falstaff: Der seit 1959 unter der Bezeichnung Kalimna nach einem Weingarten im Barosssa Valley bezeichnete Klassiker »Bin 28« kommt heute als Multi-Vineyard-Blend aus vier Regionen. Dunkles Rubingranat, violette Reflexe, dezente Randaufhellung. Feine ätherische Würze, ein Hauch von Sanddorn, frische Brombeeren, ein Hauch von grünen Oliven, etwas Lakritze im Hintergrund. Stoffig, dunkle Beerenfrucht, schwarze Kirschen, gut integrierte Tannine, elegant und gut anhaftend, zart salzig im Nachhall, bereits zugänglich, schokoladige Nuancen im Rückgeschmack. 93/100

-- Parker: The 2019 Bin 28 Kalimna Shiraz blends fruit from McLaren Vale, Barossa Valley, Padthaway and Wrattonbully and puts it into used American oak hogsheads for a year prior to bottling. Scents of vanilla jump out on the nose but quickly recede under a wave of gently caramelized plums and cherries. Full-bodied and supple on the palate, it's concentrated and lush, with a rich, velvety finish. Once again, it's a fine value in South Australian Shiraz, and exported to the U.S. in reasonable quantities (9,054 cases). 92/100
