Decanter über: Champagne Clos des Goisses Les Cintres Extra Brut

-- Decanter: A spectacular 100% Pinot Noir from inside the Clos de Goisses walled vineyard, only made in the best vintages, and new to the Place de Bordeaux this year. Raspberry and rose petal aromas on the nose with blackcurrants and strawberries too. Dense and concentrated on the palate but tons of energy and freshness too - rich, ripe fruit flavours and a muscular, firm frame but no fat. Juicy and succulent, intense, full and powerful initially then settles and expands making way for the tangy strawberry and lemon sherbet elements to shine. So lively, youthful and upfront with a chiselled backbone and generous interplay between a sweet and dry mouthfeel. Red berries mingle with peach, salty stones, floral accents and a soft undercurrent of orange zest and yet finishes with a menthol freshness that is so captivating. Cheeksucking and totally delicious - what a wine! Dosage 4.3gl. 100% fermented in oak barrels of one year old then ageing nine years on the lees. Disgorged June 2022. 2,176 bottles produced. 99/100

Colin Hay über: Champagne Clos des Goisses Les Cintres Extra Brut

-- Colin Hay: Tasted with Charles Philipponnat at the property two weeks before its release. From two parcels internal to the Clos des Goisses and made only in the very best vintages from a selection of around a third of the grapes harvested in each parcel – the rest being for Clos des Goisses. A little darker than Clos de Goisses with a hint of the pyramids about it – Tutankhamun gold! This has an amazing natural sweetness – and a staggering richness. It is massive but so structurally fresh too – with the acidity so integral to the personality of this wine. It is impressively expressive, at this very early stage in its evolution, but with so much more to come. Frangipane; red fruits; mango; a little white peach flesh; walnut brittle; lots of rocky minerality; saffron; roasted langoustine shell; marshmallow; tarte tatin a little hint of pasture; a touch of fleur d’oranger and clementine zest. Incredible complexity aromatically, and incredible layering in the mouth. A wine that combines immense power with incredible energy, freshness and elegance. We are in the presence of rare greatness and majesty. 99/100

Lisa Perrotti Brown über: Champagne Clos des Goisses Les Cintres Extra Brut

-- Lisa Perrotti Brown: A natural beauty, Les Cintres 2012 Blanc de Noir is from a single, very chalky, mid-terrace parcel at the center of the Clos des Goisses vineyard planted with an old massal selection of unknown origins. It is the oldest, and steepest parcel known for yielding exceptionally concentrated fruit. Fully barrel fermented and with no malolactic fermentation, it was disgorged after ten years on lees and finished with a 4.5 grams per liter dosage. Incredibly fragrant with enveloping aromas of ripe red berries, warm croissant and Acacia honey along with a whiff of wet stones and bruised Chantecler apple, the medium-bodied palate is vinous, vibrant and honeyed with an incredible depth of red fruit and acid intensity mixed in with toasty, creamy autolytic notes. It is at once ample, fresh and surprisingly lithe for such a concentrated year as 2012. Disgorged June 2022. 2176 bottles produced

Jeb Dunnuck über: Champagne Clos des Goisses Les Cintres Extra Brut

-- Jeb Dunnuck: Coming from the central-most parcel of the oldest vines in Clos des Goisses and entirely Pinot Noir, the 2021 Champagne Les Cintres Extra Brut is concentrated and focused. It pours a straw/copper color and boasts aromas of framboise, toasted brioche, hazelnut, and delicate oak spice. The palate is structured and built for the long haul, with focused, energetic tension and a rich, compact core, softened out with a refined, pinpoint mousse and hints of oak spice floating on the finish. It offers serious aging potential over the coming decades and is going to benefit from more time in cellar. Fermented in oak casks, it was disgorged in October of 2022 with 4.5 grams per liter dosage.

Suckling über: Champagne Clos des Goisses Les Cintres Extra Brut

-- Suckling: Beautiful and intense aromas of dried apples, spices, crushed stones, walnuts, brioche and hints of salted caramel. Disgorged June 2022. 2,176 bottles produced. Drink or hold. 98/100

Parker über: Champagne Clos des Goisses Les Cintres Extra Brut

-- Parker: From an outstanding vintage, the 2012 Les Cintres extra brut derives from vines planted on two parcels inside the Clos des Goisses walled vineyard planted with Pinot Noir. It possesses a multifaceted, intense bouquet with aromas of pear, spring flowers, cherries, ripe orchard fruits, crushed stones, honey and rose petals, followed by a full-bodied, fleshy and racy palate that’s simultaneously crystalline and pure with a splendid core of fruit, racy acids and a long, endless finish. Presently, it stands as the most exceptional Les Cintres rendition. Dosage was 4.5 grams per liter. 97/100
