Lobenberg: Schwarz, dicht, Patrimo. Fast nicht möglich eine Frucht zu bestimmen, einfach nur Schwarz und wuchtig und feine Kräuter. Was für eine Tiefe, man verliert sich darin, man wird eingesogen. Chateau Evangile aus Pomerol? Im Mund zwar mit genau dieser Kraft, Dichte und Tiefe, aber weniger umhauend als gedacht. Voller Finesse und Feinheit, ja fast tänzelnd. Auf ein Mal elegante Nuancen, gute Säure und keinerlei Schwere oder gar Fett auf der Zunge. Natürlich, Tannine, aber so gut eingebaut und gerundet und grandios in ihrer Feinkörnigkeit. Im Gesamteindruck bleibt eine unfassbar schwarze Kirsche und Kaffee im Nachklang. Der beste Merlot Italiens, würdig ein Pomerol zu sein. Starker Auftritt. Starker Wein. 96/100

-- Parker: I've been focused on bottle weight and the repercussions that all that heavy glass has on our environment and our efforts for greater sustainability. This is one of the heaviest bottles I encounter each year (evidently made with a special mold), so I feel it's time to call it out in the hope that this wine can become a role model for others. Looking at the liquid contents inside the bottle, the Feudi di San Gregorio 2017 Pàtrimo pours forth with a beautifully velvety and saturated appearance. This pure Merlot shows an unexpected bouquet with notes of green curry leaf and rosemary with cherry confit and pressed blackberries. This hot-vintage red is abundant and richly layered. 94/100

-- Galloni: The 2017 Merlot Patrimo is dark, rich, and intense, leading off with a whiff of brown spice, which evolves into notes of dusty sweet florals, tobacco, crushed blueberry, cherry, and minty herbs. On the palate, silky, seamless textures are energized by brisk acids, as mineral-encased blueberries and blackberry fruits flood the senses, leaving salty minerals and saturating tannins in their wake. The finish is long and structured, resonating on savory spice and acids, as hints of wild berry and herbs slowly fade to reveal a coating of fine tannin. It's a big wine to be sure, yet the Feudi di San Gregorio Merlot is perfectly balanced with an impeccable mix of fruit, power, structure and oak management. Lose some in the cellar and reap the rewards. 94/100
