Heiner Lobenberg über:
Chateau Clos de Bouard 2016

94+
/100

Lobenberg: Dunkel, fast schwarz. 94+/100

Suckling über: Chateau Clos de Bouard

-- Suckling: Super rich and plush with ample dark plum, cocoa and graphite nuances, as well as some blueberries and cherries. The plate has a beautifully crafted bed of fine, plush and long tannins that carry effortless length and depth. Deep and fresh cabernet kick. Really impressive. 85 per cent merlot and 11 per cent cabernet franc and four per cent cabernet sauvignon. Try from 2023 94/100

Wine Cellar Insider über: Chateau Clos de Bouard

-- Wine Cellar Insider: Black plums, licorice, smoke, espresso and chocolate are easily discerned. On the palate, the wine is lush, polished, round and silky. The fruits are ripe, the tannins are polished and the finish mixes dark red fruits with cocoa, licorice, smoke and spice. This is only the second vintage for Coralie de Bouard, who was not able to produce a wine in 2017, due to difficult weather conditions. The wine is a blend of 85% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Franc and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon. 92-94/100

Falstaff über: Chateau Clos de Bouard

-- Falstaff: Tiefdunkles Rubingranat, fester Kern, violette Reflexe, zarte Randaufhellung, schwarze Beerenfrucht, feine Kräuterwürze, tabakige Noten. Saftig, süße Brombeeren, schwarze Kirschen, gut integrierte Tannine, etwas Karamell, rund und zugänglich, gastronomischer Stil. 92/100

Jeb Dunnuck über: Chateau Clos de Bouard

-- Jeb Dunnuck: Checking in as a blend of 85% Merlot, 11% Cabernet Franc, and the rest Cabernet Sauvignon, made by the Coralie de Bouard (of Château Angélus), the 2016 Château Clos de Boüard has a beautiful elegance and purity as well as impressive notes of black cherries, cassis, subtle oak, and dried flowers. It’s very floral, with fine tannins and a silky, elegant finish. 92/100

Galloni über: Chateau Clos de Bouard

-- Galloni: The 2016 Clos de Boüard is a rich, powerful wine. Dark red cherry, raspberry, mocha, licorice and rose petal all flesh out in this succulent, potent Montagne Saint-Émilion. This is an impressive debut. Even so, it will be interesting to see if this wine can be more nuanced in future vintages. Tasted two times. 91/100

Parker über: Chateau Clos de Bouard

-- Parker: The 2016 Clos de Bouärd is blended of 85% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Franc and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon. Medium garnet-purple colored, it leaps from the glass with bold scents of wild blueberries, red currant jelly and plum preserves plus touches of truffles, mossy bark and cinnamon stick. Medium-bodied with great freshness on the palate, it has a taut, muscular core of red and black berry flavors and a chewy frame, finishing with a spicy kick.
