Lobenberg: Es gibt keinen anderen Chardonnay, der so überaus fruchtig mit Pfirsich und Mango rüberkommt, üppig, wollüstig, saftig ohne Ende, mit der überbordenen goldgelben Frucht die immense Mineralität verbergend. Der Wein braucht soooo viel Zeit! Viele, viele Stunden in der Karaffe. Oder besser Jahre im Keller. Nach 7 bis 8 Jahren kommt dann die satte Mineralität und der Wein entpuppt sich. Hier steht dann ein saftigerer, extrem mineralischer Chevalier Montrachet im Glas. Dieser Wein kann in Kalifornien wohl nur noch von Helen Turleys Marcassin erreicht werden, das ist top of the top. 98-100/100

-- Parker: The tiny cuvee of 200-250 cases of 2012 Chardonnay the Judge comes from Kongsgaard’s best parcels and lowest yielding terroirs (about three-fourths of a ton of grapes per acre). Incredibly rich and textured, with loads of honeysuckle and exotic marmalade notes, this sexy beast of a Chardonnay has brilliant delineation and stunning concentration and length along with undeniable minerality. This is one of the greatest young Chardonnays I have ever tasted. Overall, 2011 produced lighter weight wines, but you would never know that from tasting Kongsgaard’s two cuvees. 98-100/100

-- Galloni: Honey, apricot jam, cinnamon, tangerine peel and rich, tropical-infused notes meld together in the 2012 Chardonnay The Judge. Rich, oily and voluptuous on the palate, the 2012 boasts marvelous depth and pure texture. Think of the Judge as more of an elixir than a wine. The 2012 is superb. 96/100
