Lobenberg: Schon eine etwas kuriose Nase, viel rote Frucht, Kirsche, irgendwo mit biel Charme, aber auch etwas mit Rappen vergoren, dennoch oder gerade deshalb auch witzig und eigenwillig. So viel rote Kirsche, Hagebutte dazu, auch Sanddorn, Mango, viel Charme und viel Individualität ausstrahlend. Im Mund das vegetative aus der Nase aufgreifend, das Witzige wird betont, dazu die große Frische aus 2019. Auf jeden Fall kommen sehr intensive Tannine, starke Extraktion, gut passende Bitterstoffe. >Dieser immer archetypische Saint Emilion hat sich in den jüngsten Jahren offenbar weiter entwickelt, bekommt Spannung und sogar etwas Aufregung. Hut ab! 95-96/100

-- Galloni: The 2019 Grand Mayne takes its time to unfold in the glass, eventually delivering enticing and very pure red berry fruit, beautifully defined and less exuberant than some of the vintages I was tasting 15-20 years ago. There is a sense of terroir and mineralité in situ. The palate is saline on the entry, immediately grabbing your attention thanks to unbridled freshness and vivacity. Slightly grainy in texture, the umami sensation that glides towards a very precise and natural finish is wonderful here. Grand Mayne has been on an upward swing in recent vintages and this is another outstanding wine from Jean-Antoine Nony. 94-96/100

With medium to full body, ripe yet present tannins, and a great finish, it offers complexity, richness, and elegance, and is a beautiful wine in the making that will evolve for over two decades. The blend is 80% merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc aging in 60% new French oak. 93-95

-- Parker: Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2019 Fonplegade charges out of the gate with bold scents of crushed black cherries, mulberries, blueberry pie and violets with hints of dark chocolate, black olives and cast-iron pan with a waft of woodsmoke. Medium to full-bodied, the palate has a solid structure of firm, finely grained tannins and tons of freshness supporting the densely packed, muscular black fruits, finishing long and energetic.93-95/100

-- Gerstl: Ein genialer Terroirwein, das zeigt schon sein verführerischer Duft, da ist eine verblüffende Tiefe, zarte Frucht, eingebunden in Aromen von Leder, Tabak und schwarzem Trüffel. Wow, ist das ein lieber Kerl, der tut so wohl, der liebkost meinen Gaumen und füllt ihn mit himmlischen Aromen, ich komme aus dem Staunen nicht mehr heraus. Ich habe einen Traumberuf, solche Weine verkosten zu dürfen, ist etwas vom Schönsten, was man sich vorstellen kann.19/20
