Lobenberg: Clos de Sarpe liegt direkt neben Haut Sarpe. Zwei Weingüter auf dem Kalksteinplateau von Saint-Émilion, am Ausgang Richtung Castillon. Clos de Sarpe ist das kleinere, schickere Weingut, das unter Insidern viel höher gehandelt wird. Die Nase ist würzig. Wacholder, Rosmarin und Lavendel. Reich und dicht, darunter süße Maulbeere. Sehr schwarz, etwas gelbe Früchte und Orangenzesten. Ziemlich viel Power im Mund. Gleichzeitig pikant. Satte schwarze Frucht, Lakritz, sehr blumig. Und dann sehr viel Schub, sehr viel Kalkstein hintenraus. Mit Länge, mit Salz, mit Orangenzesten und einer wunderschönen Frische. Kein Blockbuster, kein fetter Wein, sondern hochelegant, aromatisch, dicht und schick. Ein Unikat, sehr eigenwillig in der Stilistik. Gefällt mir hervorragend! 97-98/100

-- Jeb Dunnuck: I always love the wines from this tiny estate, which is located on the upper plateau of Saint-Emilion, and their 2020 Château Clos De Sarpe is another brilliant wine. Deep purple-hued, with a powerful bouquet of ripe cassis and black cherry fruits as well as camphor, graphite, and liquid violets, it's flawlessly balanced, has remarkable purity of fruit, building tannins, and well-integrated oak. This wine can age beautifully, and this 2020 will still be drinking brilliantly in 20, 30, if not 40 years. Bravo. Tasted multiple times, and I rated it as high as 98 on one occasion. 96+/100

-- Parker: Opaque purple-black in color, the 2020 Clos de Sarpe rolls seductively out of the glass with opulent scents of Chinese five spice, rose oil, sandalwood and camphor, leading to a core of plum preserves, blueberry pie and fragrant soil, with a touch of woodsmoke. The rich, full-bodied palate is, as always, not lacking in freshness, delivering layer upon layer of spicy black fruit preserves and a velvety texture, finishing very long and beautifully perfumed. The blend this year is 85% Merlot and 15% Cabernet Franc, aging for an estimated 13 months in French oak barrels, 70% new. The alcohol weighs-in at 15%. 94-96+/100
