Lobenberg: Ein geradezu unglaublicher Wein! Tintiges, dunkles Rot und eine berauschende Nase nach Cassis, Vanille und Lakritz. Perfekt gezeichnet, wie aus einem Guss strahlt die dichte Aromatik und sublime Kraft aus ihm heraus. Nur 10 hl/ha Ertrag von ca. 120 Jahre alten Reben machen es möglich. Am Gaumen extrem lang und samtig viel cremiger Druck und Schmelz in der Mitte. Immens intensiv, fast als ob es einem den Atem verschlägt. Power pur bis ins unglaublich Lange, rot- und dunkelbeeriges Finish mit Cassis, Dattel, reife Brombeere und viel Graphitmineralität und dabei traumhaft komplex und verspielt. 97-100/100

-- Galloni: Dark, bright-rimmed purple. Intensely perfumed blueberry, cherry compote, cola, exotic spice and vanilla aromas are complicated by smoky mineral, licorice and roasted coffee notes. Broad, palate-staining dark berry liqueur, bitter cherry and violet pastille flavors display impressive depth as well as vivacity, and a bright jolt of peppery spices adds back-end lift. Finishes sweet, spicy and extremely long, with youthfully gripping tannins providing framework. 96/100

-- Parker: I also tasted the 2018 and 2019 of the Alabaster side by side. The 2018 Alabaster was selected from ancient ungrafted vines, 11.5 hectares in Valdemediano, La Jara and Marinacea vineyards in Toro that yielded 12 hectoliters per hectare, something extremely low. The grapes were hand destemmed and fermented in open-top tanks with their own strain of yeasts. The wine underwent malolactic fermentation and 18 months of aging in 100% new French oak barrels. It feels like a very classical vintage, a little more tannic and with some edges that feel more polished in the 2019—even the oak feels a little more noticeable here. 4,000 bottles were filled in July 2020. 95/100
