Lobenberg: Tenuta Nuova ist ein Blend aus Trauben der Lagen Cetine und Pietradonice, die früher ein Marmorsteinbruch war. Aus dem letzten je abgebauten Stück wurde die Theke im Verkostungsraum von Casanova di Neri gemacht. 32 bis 35 Monate in gebrauchten französischen 500 Liter Tonneaux ausgebaut. Die Nase ist intensiv dunkel-würzig, monumental und beeindruckend! Saftige Schwarzkirschen, Brombeeren, ätherische Kräuter, Teer, Rauch, Menthol und schwebende Minze. In diesem großen Jahrgang ist der Wein ein Mega-Erlebnis im Glas! Schiebend und druckvoll, dabei dennoch spannend, verlockend und verführerisch. Auch im Mund ist der Wein ein Feuerwerk. Wow! Die Tannine sind fein strukturiert und griffig, sie hinterlassen einen intensiv mineralischen, fast salzigen Nachgeschmack auf der Zunge, der dann in blonden Tabak und weiße Lakritz übergeht. 2019 ist dieses Top-Weingut über sich selbst hinausgewachsen und der Tenuta Nuova ganz klar, einer der »Best-Buys« des Jahrgangs! Ein nahezu perfekter Wein, der sogar – zumindest im Vergleich zu den anderen großen Namen der Region – noch recht erschwinglich ist. Grandios! 98-100/100

-- Falstaff: Dunkles Rubinrot mit leicht violetten Reflexen. In der Nase komplex, Eisen, dunkle Kirschfrucht, satte Pflaume, etwas Liebstöckel. Am Gaumen mit viel Salz und Saft, komplex, kommt in vielen Schichten, mit engmaschigem Tannin, druckvoll und mit voller Pracht, kommt ständig wieder, groß. 100/100

-- International Wine Report: The 2019 ‘Tenuta Nuova’ Brunello di Montalcino is always one of the most exciting wines from the region and it is once again nothing short of brilliant. This begins to impress with gorgeous ripe characteristics of blackberries and dark cherries along with warm exotic spices, crushed wildflowers, toasted nuances, and hints of wild herbs that all form the incredibly nuanced aromatics. The palate is medium to full-bodied and remarkably structured with beautifully defined contours. This goes on to impress with outstanding concentration and balance, with a beautiful ripe core which is underlined by a lovely streak of acidity that provides wonderful freshness heading into the long finish. This is an utterly fascinating wine from Casanova de Neri that should be quite accessible in its youth and go on to offer a drinking window that should easily spans two decades.

With 30 months of aging in tonneaux, it shows enormous richness and texture, and the stellar fruit quality appears with more primary elegance compared to the more expensive Cerretalto that is released with an extra year of aging. That dynamic is especially pronounced in a comparison of the 2019 and 2018 vintages. The 2019 Brunello di Montalcino Tenuta Nuova has a dark vein of toasted spice, black fruit, ink, blackberry compote, licorice and star anise. Dark as night, it is exceptionally well crafted with a robust delivery of concentrated fruit and solid tannic structure. You can count on excellent cellar potential, or at a minimum, serve it with a classic steak. Production is exactly 69,696 bottles. 97/100
