Fast reinsortiger Semillon mit einem Touch Muscadelle in 2022. Der Cloisot wächst nicht wie üblich in Barsac auf rotem Kalkstein, sondern auf Kieselsteinen mehr an Graves angelehnt. Nicht das einzig ungewöhnliche an dieser grandiosen Barsac-Domaine von der Burgunder-Legende Jean-Marie Guffens-Heynen. Auch aus dem großen, legendären Jahr 2022 holt Guffens aus der Einzellage Les Dames de Bonneau eine berauschende Frische heraus, die dem Wein ungeahnt viel Trinkfluss verleiht. Man ist fast versucht zu schreiben, diesen Barsac kann man jung einfach mal so wegtrinken zu einem schönen Käseplateau. Natürlich hält er Jahrzehnte in seiner Konzentration, aber so schön wie er ist... warum nicht?!

Der Ausnahme-Jahrgang 2022 gilt als eine der konzentriertesten und reichsten Saisons aller Zeiten – trotz extremer Sommerhitze bestechen die Top-Weine mit monumentaler Dichte, einer überraschend tiefen Säurestruktur und beispiellosem Lagerpotenzial.

Jean-Marie Guffens masterfully grasped the essence of this vintage. By delaying his harvest, he achieved an impressive concentration of his grapes while preserving their remarkable freshness and acidity. This approach allowed him to craft one of the standout vintage wines. The 2022 Les Dames de Bonneau reveals a deep, powerful and complex bouquet of apricots, quince, smoke, spices, spring flowers and ripe orchard fruits, followed by a dense, full-bodied, textural and layered palate, with a massive level of concentration, superb chalky dry extracts and an endless, ethereal and refined finish. While expressive and vibrant at this stage, it should be kept in the cellar for 5 to 6 years before it is opened, and it can age gracefully over the next 30 to 50 years. With 186 grams per liter of residual sugar, it is one of the best wines produced at this address.

Pure, complex and aromatic. Honey, peach and tropical-fruit notes. Rich but balanced with juicy fruit and bitter-botrytised freshness. Long finish. Despite the sugar it feels like a drink.

The 2022 Les Dames de Bonneau, laden with 190g/L residual sugar, has a resinous bouquet with dried honey and light saffron scents. The palate is medium-bodied with a viscous entry, impressive weight and botrytisation. A thick-textured, marmalade-tinged finish is very satisfying. Excellent.

Jean-Marie Guffens ist ein aus Belgien ins Burgund ausgewandertes Winzer-Genie. Für mich ist er einer der größten Winemaker unserer Zeit. Neben seinen Projekten im Burgund hat er 2017 aus Liebe zu den Weinen ein kleines Château in Barsac gekauft, um ganz große Süßweine zu keltern.
