Heiner Lobenberg über:
AN 2 2017
/100
Lobenberg: Helles Granat-Rot. 92/100

Penin über: AN 2
-- Penin: Wild. Durchscheinendes Kirschrot, dunkles Kirschrot. Aromen: feine Reduktionsnoten, ausdrucksstark fruchtig, reifes Obst, schwarze Lakritze. Am Gaumen: geschmackvoll, feinkörnige Tannine, zartbitter, lang. 92/100

Galloni über: AN 2
-- Galloni: Glistening ruby-red. Ripe red and blue fruit and floral pastille aromas pick up succulent herb and spice accents with air. Fresh and energetic in the mouth, offering black raspberry, cherry and boysenberry flavors and a spicy jolt of white pepper. Finishes supple and gently sweet, with harmonious tannins and very good, spicy persistence. 91/100

Parker über: AN 2
-- Parker: I also sampled the still-unbottled 2017 AN/2, the 'second' red wine. With a production of about 20% less than normal, it comes from a challenging year, where they worked hard in the selection (they have an optical sorting table, which allowed them to select the quality of grapes they want for the wine). It is mostly Callet with small amounts of Fogoneu and Mantonegro and a touch of Syrah from slightly younger vines, so the Syrah adds color and structure. It fermented in stainless steel and concrete vats with yeasts they have isolated from their own vineyards. It aged in new, second and third use oak barrels, with a small percentage of American and Central European oak. It has a perfumed nose with plenty of lactic notes and generous spice and smoke with a touch of violets and meat, marked by the élevage in barrel. The palate is juicy and revealed fine-grained tannins and plenty of oak-related flavors. I found it quite marked by the oak. This was in a tank settling down waiting for bottling, so it's very young. 90/100

Wine Spectator über: AN 2
-- Wine Spectator: This energetic red delivers a mix of fruity and savory flavors, featuring bright cherry and berry notes that mingle with black olive, tar and mineral elements. Light tannins and crisp acidity keep this focused. Supple, but shows good density. Balanced and lively. Drink now through 2027. 15,000 cases made, 850 cases imported. 90/100
