Parker über:
12 Volts
I already tasted the serious and somewhat austere 2023 12 Volts last year but retasted it for this report. It has a deeper color than any of its siblings, perhaps the result of the varietal mix, 55% Fogoneu and Callet, 35% Syrah and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon. It fermented in stainless steel and matured in 3,000-liter foudres (40%) and used 225-liter French oak barrels (60%) for eight months. 2023 was a good vintage; they got 15 centimeters of snow in March, and that was part of the reason why they got very high yields. The wine has a more commercial profile, with nice fruit, berries, herbs and spices with a balsamic touch; good ripeness beyond what the 12% alcohol would suggest; a medium-bodied palate; and some tannins that are being polished by the time in bottle. It has a pH of 3.7 and 4.5 grams of acidity. It showed a bit better this time. 50,000 bottles produced. It was bottled in July 2024.
