Lobenberg: Vielleicht mit Artadi der eleganteste und feinste Wein der Rioja. Verspielt, mozartartiges feines Piano und doch sind da Massen an Frucht und Glyzerin, reif, tief, fett und voluminös, schwarze Johannisbeeren, Kirschmarmelade und Vanille in Nase und Gaumen. Dennoch unendlich feingliederig, zart, seidig und elegant. Gut integriertes Holz. Das Holz perfekt integriert, spürbar, aber dezent im Hintergrund. Was für eine unendliche Trinkfreude jetzt, so stelle ich mir die moderne Rioja in der totalen Eleganz und Finesse vor. Die schwarze Kirsche ist dicht aber fern jeder Marmelade, konzentrierte Waldhimbeere stützt perfekt. Sowas von auf den Punkt! 97/100

-- Galloni: If there is a wine that embodies the terroir-driven focus since the 1990s, it's San Vicente. The 2020 San Vicente is 100% Tempranillo Peludo, distinguished by its velvety leaves. Sourced from the San Vicente vineyard in the Canoca Valley, San Vicente de la Sonsierra, it aged for 20 months in French (90%) and American (10%) oak barrels. This purplish wine offers ripe black fruit aromas and wild herb notes against an oak backdrop. Dry, juicy and taut, the light and fine-grained tannins linger long. A nuanced, modern Rioja, this wine is a masterpiece of Marcos Eguren's winemaking technique—a truly elegant Tempranillo.

Tim Atkin über: San Vicente Tempranillo

-- Tim Atkin: All sourced from La Canoca, a vineyard that is fast developing a reputation as one of the unofficial Grands Crus of San Vicente de la Sonsierra, this 2020 reflects what Marcos Eguren calls a 'lighter year'. Aged in new French and 10% American oak, it's a wine that carriesits 14.5% alcohol lightly, with lots of mocha oak, plenty of depth and structure, supporting acidity and flavours of orange zest, blueberry and black cherry. 2025-35 95/100

Parker über: San Vicente Tempranillo

-- Parker: The 2021 San Vicente showcases the completeness of the year with a rare combination of power and elegance, with intensity of fruit, clout and very good freshness and the roundness of the tannins from the year. It has a lot of everything; the selection of Tempranillo used for this wine gave a lot of color, notes of aromatic herbs and ripe berry fruit and a solid palate, but it's fine-boned, with a beautiful texture. It's still young but already shows incipient complexity. It absorbed the new oak (French and American) pretty early, and the aromas and flavors are very integrated. It should be very long lived. This is one of the finest vintages for San Vicente. 50,000 bottles. It was bottled in August 2023.

Suckling über: San Vicente Tempranillo

-- Suckling: A plush, complex Rioja with powdery tannins that coat the palate nicely. Deep nose with lots of blackberries, Mexican chocolate, iodine and fine spices. Excellent quality and quantity of tannins that melt away with the ripe but fresh fruit. Very long and tight but really silky. Drink or hold.
