Heiner Lobenberg über:
Chateau Siran 2018

94–95
/100

Wine Enthusiast über: Chateau Siran

-- Wine Enthusiast: From an estate in the southern part of Margaux, this wine has just the right mix of rich tannins and taut black-currant flavors to give upfront freshness and potential for further aging. Structured and fruity, it should be drunk from 2027. 95/100

Suckling über: Chateau Siran

-- Suckling: Blackberries, mushrooms and flowers on the nose. Full-bodied with a very compact palate that shows creamy and refined tannins that are strong and driven. Some tar and wet earth at the end. Needs three or four years to come together. Best after 2025. 94/100

Parker über: Chateau Siran

-- Parker: Medium to deep garnet-purple in color, the 2018 Siran wafts out of the glass with very pretty scents of red roses, cinnamon stick, chocolate-covered cherries and fragrant earth, giving way to a core of warm cassis and plum preserves, plus a touch of camphor. The medium to full-bodied palate is absolutely laden with rich, juicy black fruits, supported by velvety tannins and plenty freshness, finishing long and perfumed. This very classy, absolutely delicious Margaux tastes great now, but it will reward 3-4 years of cellaring and has the stuffing to continue thereafter for 20+ years. 93/100

Falstaff über: Chateau Siran

-- Falstaff: Tiefdunkles Rubingranat, violette Reflexe, zarte Randaufhellung. Feines dunkles Waldbeerkonfit, ein Hauch von Feigen und Kirschen, kandierte Orangenzesten. Saftig, elegant, mineralische Textur, reife Herzkirschen, integrierte Tannine, schokoladiger Nachhall. 93/100

Decanter über: Chateau Siran

-- Decanter: Juicy and confident black fruit, well controlled with a sense of energy and forward motion through the palate. A succulent peppery finish gives a mouthwatering signoff, and this will age well. Easily competes with the classified growths of Margaux. A yield of 45hl/ha. 35% new oak 93/100

Galloni über: Chateau Siran

-- Galloni: The 2018 Siran is impressive, to say the least. Inky, dark and seductive, the 2018 is gorgeous right out of the bottle. Blue/purplish fruit, mocha, spice, chocolate and new French oak all race across the palate. The high percentage of Merlot is felt in the wine's juiciness and palate-weight, while a kick of brightness energizes the finish. In a word: terrific. 93/100

Wine Cellar Insider über: Chateau Siran

-- Wine Cellar Insider: With considerable color and silky tannins, this wine is rich, polished, lush and round. The fruit is ripe, sweet, fresh and long with a spicy, dark cherry and mocha finish. Made from blending 45% Merlot, 44% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Petit Verdot and 1% Cabernet Franc, the harvest took place from September 20 to October 13, reaching 14% alcohol. 92-94/100

Siran
