-- Jeb Dunnuck: The NV Champagne V.P. stands for Vieille Prolongée, because it is aged longer, seeing 7 years on the lees before disgorgement. A blend 70% Pinot and the rest Chardonnay, based on 2016 and with reserve wine from 2015 and 2014, they made this blend in 2017. Offering wonderfully pure aromas of cherry liqueur, eau de vie, fresh flowers, and crushed rocks, it’s full-bodied on the palate and has broad shoulders but retains a very focused and well-defined feel, with outstanding concentration and purity, a fantastically long finish, and a remarkably youthful feel. It’s beautiful now but has the potential for a lot of longevity and is going to be wonderful to check in on.

-- Galloni: The NV Extra Brut V.P. Vieillisement Prolongé is a blend of fruit from vineyards in Bouzy, Ambonnay and Verzenay, all Grand Cru villages. Extended time on the lees of 84 months gives the V.P. its depth, texture and resonance. Ample and inviting on the palate, with tremendous richness, the V.P. is just sublime. Red cherry, kirsch, chamomile, mint, apricot, honey and dried flowers all open up in a beautifully resonant Champagne that hits all the right notes. Disgorged: July, 2019. 96/100

-- Falstaff: 65 Monate Hefelager, degorgiert Dezember 2016. Delikat Pinot-beerig im Duft, sehr frisch, keine tertiären Noten. Eine Spur Hefe. Nougat de Montélimar. Apfelschale. Am Gaumen etwas mehr Reifearomen als im Duft, hinter einer feinen, aber auch kraftvollen Mousse. Die reife, tragende und Länge gebende Säure trifft auf Stoffigkeit und einen strammen Kцrper. Dennoch ist der Wein elegant und nuanciert, voller fruchtiger Zwischentцne. Pointiert, lang, und zuletzt mineralisch-fest mit großen Extraktreserven. 95/100

-- Decanter: Although this appears as the 'house' non-vintage, in character it is more akin to a vintage wine that needs some time on cork. Tasted young, the saturated fruit – apricot, spiced apples, grilled lemons – is already expressive, yet not fully unsprung. Based on 2018 with 40% reserves back to 2016, the heat of 2018 is in the fruit profile rather than weight or grip, and is more about persistence than pure power, underlined by the oak élevage yet not coloured by it. 70% Pinot Noir and 30% Chardonnay from Ambonnay, Bouzy and Verzenay. 100% barrel fermentation. 95/100

-- Parker: A blend of the 2009, 2010 and 2011 vintages that was bottled in 2012 and disgorged in early 2019, the latest rendition of Egly's NV Extra-Brut Grand Cru V.P. will be released later this year, and it will be well worth seeking out. Unfurling in the glass with notes of crisp yellow orchard fruit, pastry cream and almond paste, the wine is medium to full-bodied, concentrated and precise, with a layered core, impressive structuring dry extract and an elegant, pinpoint mousse, concluding with a long and penetrating finish. Even in the context of an impressive track record, this rendition of the V.P. impressed for its purity and definition. 94/100
