Lobenberg: Der ehemalige Bürgermeister von Saint-Julien, Henri Martin, gründete Château Gloria in den 1940er Jahren. Das als Cru Bourgeois eingestufte Weingut umfasst ca. 50 Hektar Rebfläche. Viel rote und schwarze Frucht, mittlere Intensität, aber im Mund schön lang und salzig, starke Mineralität. Rote und schwarze Frucht, Kirsche, auch Brombeere und Cassis, Veilchen und Rosenblätter, aber nichts Fettes, eher sexy, wie es sich für einen guten Saint Julien auch gehört. Sexy in der roten Frucht laufend, nur leicht schwarz unterlegt mit Lakritze und Veilchen. In sich ein stimmiger Saint Julien und archetypisch für die Appellation, trotz der hohen reife des Jahrgangs 2018. 94-95/100

-- Jeb Dunnuck: A youthful, unevolved 2018 with lots of up-front blue and black fruits as well as cedary herbs, violets, and scorched earth, the 2018 Château Gloria is medium to full-bodied and has a beautifully balanced, elegant mouthfeel, ripe tannins, and both richness and freshness. The purity of fruit is spot on. It's another brilliant wine from this estate that readers will love. It's going to benefit from 2-4 years in the cellar and cruise for two decades in cold cellars. 94/100

It is hard to believe this is better than the beautiful 2016 but it is! The wine was made from a blend of 61% Cabernet Sauvignon, 26% Merlot 8% Petit Verdot and 5% Cabernet Franc. 93-95/100
