Lobenberg: 90% Sauvignon Blanc, 5% Semillon, 5% Sauvignon Gris. Nur zu 50% im neuen Holz ausgebaut. Für alle 2015er Weißweine ist das kein Jahr für die absolute Rasse, sondern ein elegantes Jahr für delikate Weine mit hoher Aromatik. Durchaus etwas voluminöser ausfallend, eben sehr lecker. Diese leichten Anteile von Sauvignon Gris und Semillon tun ihm im Gegensatz zum 100%igen Sauvignon des Zweitweins durchaus gut. Es gibt ihm Rundung, mehr Aprikose, Passionsfrucht, ein Hauch Pfirsich und Melone, darunter feine weiße Birne, ein sehr schicker Smith. Smith ist sowieso häufig vor den etwas opulenteren Domaine de Chevalier Blanc und Fieuzal Blanc der feinste der drei Verfolger hinter Haut Brion und La Mission Haut Brion. Häufig mein Lieblingswein unter den Weißweinen Bordeaux. Eine tolle Intensität im Mund, auch hier dem Jahrgang entsprechend nicht rasiermesserscharf in der Säure, sondern bei großer Frische und leichtem Bitterstoff von pinker Grapefruit, durchaus viel Charme zeigend, tolle Harmonie, ganz toll schon jung. Hier braucht man, wie in fast allen großen 15ern, keine Hoffnung projizieren. Hier ist alles sofort wunderbar und präsent. Ein sehr charmanter, sehr schöner und gelungener, frischer, aber gleichwohl delikater, erotischer und leicht üppiger Smith Haut Laffite Blanc. 95-97/100

-- Parker: Composed of 90% Sauvignon Blanc, 5% Sémillon and 5% Sauvignon Gris, the Smith Haut Lafitte 2015 Blanc has an incredibly compelling nose of ripe apricots, passion fruit, honeyed lemons and crushed stones with a hint of lime blossoms. Medium-bodied, super intense and super minerally, the palate sings of stone fruit and citrus layers with plenty of zip and zing, finishing with incredible persistence, alluring fruitiness and a savory contrast that will keep you reaching for another glass. 96+/100

-- Jeb Dunnuck: I was able to taste the 2015 Smith Haut Lafitte Blanc twice and it showed beautifully on both occasions. Based on 90% Sauvignon Blanc and the balance Sémillon and Sauvignon Gris, aged in plenty of new wood, this ripe, sexy 2015 knocks it out of the park with its citrus oil, caramelized lemons, tangerine and honeysuckle aromatics. This palate doesn’t lose a beat either and is full-bodied and concentrated, with vibrant acidity and blockbuster length. I’d drink bottles over the coming 10-15 years, yet I suspect it will keep longer. It’s in the top 2-3 whites of the vintage. 96/100

-- Decanter: Donning a unique black and gold label to mark the 25th vintage under the Cathiard ownership, this is a very special wine indeed. Youthful in appearance, the wine balances opulence, density and depth. Aromatic appeal is driven by Linden tea, pristine ripe stone fruit and subtle citrus aspects. The palate craftily integrates subtle oak notes (aged in 50% new oak) with ripe white stone fruit, reflecting polish and elegance. The juicy ripe pear on the long finish is pleasingly noteworthy. It can age blissfully for at least another 10 years. A testament to the innovation, precision and hard work in both the vineyard and the vat room. 96/100

-- Galloni: In 2015 Smith Haut Lafitte Blanc is rich, sumptuous and incredibly inviting, with no hard edges and fabulous balance. Even with all of its obvious intensity, the 2015 retains a good bit of freshness. Naturally, the 2015 leans toward the richer end of the spectrum in 2015, yet all of the signatures are very much in place. The aromatics aren't fully expressive. It will be interesting to see what time brings. 95/100

-- NM: The 2015 Smith-Haut-Lafitte Blanc is a blend of 90% Sauvignon Blanc, 5% Sauvignon Gris and 5% Sauvignon Blanc matured in 50% new oak. It has a crisp, conservative bouquet, tightly wound at first, reticent even, though with a couple of minutes' swirling, it reveals intense fresh lime flower, pink grapefruit, guava and blood orange scents. The palate is extremely well balanced with a silver bead of acidity, a dab of sour lemon than cleanses the mouth, followed by pink grapefruit, citrus lemon and green apple notes towards the long finish. This is another outstanding white Smith-Haut-Lafitte from winemaker Fabien Tietgen and the famille Cathiard. 94-96/100

-- Gerstl: Auch der Weisse begeistert durch Feinheit, schon der Duft setzt total auf Finesse, die Komplexität ist enorm, aber jedes Detail der Aromen, fügt sich ins wunderschöne Duftbild ein ohne aufzufallen. Auch am Gaumen ist die Harmonie perfekt, feine Rasse, feine Extraksüsse, cremiger Gaumenfluss, die Aromen tanzen Samba und doch bleibt der Wein fast bescheiden im Hintergrund, mir gefallt auch der Weisse, so gut wie noch nie, das ist eine sagenmhaft raffinierte Delikatesse. 19/20
