Lobenberg: 74% Cabernet Sauvignon, 22% Merlot, 2% Cabernet Franc, 2% Petit Verdot. Schwarz. Wuchtige Teer- und Goudron-Nase, ein fetter Barolo? Eisen, reife Pflaume, Brombeere, Jod. Nicht erwartet, aber sehr fein und interessant. Tolles Entree im Mund, fein und rassig, extrem geschliffenes, superfeines und poliertes Tannin, der Wein vibriert mit schwarzer Frucht, Kirsche und Johannisbeere, tolle Länge mit feinem Spannungsbogen und Rasse, sehr begeisternder und finessereicher Pauillac mit langem, verspielt feinem Nachhall, durch seine unglaubliche Eleganz bestechend. Kein Riese, aber eine archetypische Schönheit, die sich in die bildhübschen Klassiker Haut Bages Liberal und Grand Puy Lacoste einreiht. Schön so. 94-95/100

-- Parker: The finest Batailley I have had in many years, the dense purple-colored 2009 exhibits a boatload of tannin as well as sweet, caramelized, black currant fruit intermixed with hints of charcoal, cedarwood and smoke, a full-bodied mouthfeel and the aforementioned high, but sweet, well-integrated tannin displaying no jaggedness. Batailley often requires considerable patience as it can be one of the longest-lived Pauillacs. Atypically for Batailley, the 2009 should be ready to drink in 5-7 years and keep for three decades. 94/100

-- Weinwisser: Tiefes Purpur, satt in der Mitte, Granatschimmer am Rand. Splendides, offenes Black-Currant-Bouquet, süsslich, mit einer Nuance Brombeergelée. Im Gaumen weich, samtig, sehr feine Tannine, schon völlig präsent und wie damals ein paar 82er daherkommend. Hier wird man sehr früh viel Spass haben und das gut und locker 20 Jahre lang. Kaufen! 18/20
