Lobenberg: Der Chardonnay von Cloudy Bay reift in Barriques. Da der Anteil an neuem Holz jedoch sehr gering ist, steht bei diesem Wein die Klarheit der Rebsorte im Vordergrund. Goldgelb strahlend, das Bouquet zeigt Birne, Honigmelone, etwas reife Nekatrine und nur dezent Toasting-Noten. Am Gaumen ist der Wein kräftig, zeigt Schmelz und eine schön eingebundene Säure. Komplex und lang anhaltend. Ein Befürworter der Balance! 90+/100

-- Parker: The 2014 Chardonnay possesses beautiful purity of apricot and pink grapefruit aromas with nuances of baking bread, honeycomb and cashews. Medium-bodied with a commendably satiny texture, it has seamless freshness and a nice long finish. 92/100

-- Galloni: Bright light yellow. Grapefruit pith, stone, spicy oak and a sexy touch of honey on the nose. Saline, brisk, grapefruity wine with serious energy and a complicating touch of sulfidey flint. Savory and nicely balanced. This shares a silkiness of texture with the Sauvignon Blanc but the latter wine is brighter and longer. Cloudy Bay will be going to lighter-toast oak with the 2015 to preserve local character. Operation winemaker Daniel Sorrell told me that he loves Burgundy and is moving in the direction of more feminine, structured, gently extracted wines - Stephen Tanzer 90/100
