Lobenberg: Der Redigaffi ist ein sortenreiner Merlot und weckt dadurch natürlich Reminiszenzen an das große Vorbild Petrus. Der tintenschwarze Wein wird 16 Monate in neuen Barriques gereift. Explosive Nase mit reifer schwarzer Himbeere und Kirsche, auch etwas Kirschkonfitüre und fein duftiges Himbeerblatt. Darüber schwebt ein Hauch Vanille und eine ganz dezente süße Würze. So reichhaltig und ausfüllend schon an der Nase. Im Mund hat dieser Jahrgang richtig Power! Reife, saftige, dunkle Beerenfrucht mit einer Menge an Tannin bis zum Abwinken, das aber puderzucker-rund poliert ist im Mund. Bitterschokolade und saftige Schwarzkirsche. Der Wein bleibt beinahe endlos lange im Mund stehen. Nach und nach verschwindet erst die Frucht und es bleibt ein Teppich an Gewürzen zurück. Hat was von Kalifornien und Pomerol, sehr kraftvoll und tiefenwürzig und mineralisch. Das wird in wenigen Jahren ein Hochgenuss der Trinkfreude für Bordeaux-Liebhaber, ein absoluter Knaller! 97/100

Falstaff über: Redigaffi

-- Falstaff: Einladend funkelndes Rubinviolett. Satte, ansprechende Nase, reich an Heidelbeeren und Brombeeren, Cassis, etwas dunkle Brotkruste, dahinter nach Oregano. Stoffig und kompakt in Ansatz und Verlauf, satt nach Heidelbeeren und Brombeeren, griffiges, herzhaftes Tannin, jung, aber sehr gut eingebunden, spannt einen weiten Bogen.

Suckling über: Redigaffi

-- Suckling: Aromas of crushed fruit and white pepper with dried lavender and hints of violets and sage flowers. Stony undertones, too. Medium- to full-bodied, tight and focused, with reserve and beauty. And then it grows on the palate with polished and focused tannins that take it to another level. Exudes freshness and length, despite the hot growing season. A sophisticated red and with a long future ahead. Try after three to four years.

-- Jeb Dunnuck: The 2022 Merlot Redigaffi (100% Merlot) displays a saturated purple/red color and is balanced and ripe on the nose, with aromas of plum, candied flowers, red apple, cedar, and dried earth. Full-bodied, it fills the palate with ripe tannins, mouthwatering, fresh acidity, and a very long finish without ever being heavy. It has incredible depth and a luxurious feel, and it’s very well-balanced, but it will take time to reveal its more complete and complex aromas of leather and tobacco. Drink over the coming 20 years.

-- Decanter: In 2022, there were six separate harvests for Redigaffi due to rain and the need for strict selection in such a hot year. Textured and silky, bright and saline, it opens with some intense pot pourri overtones and black and blue berries. In the mouth it's more red and blue fruits, sapid and succulent and underlined by wood, coffee bean and petrichor. Perfumed lavender and violet notes soar overhead. Very youthful, give this some time in the bottle before opening to enjoy it at its best.

-- Parker: One of Italy's greatest Merlots, the Tua Rita 2022 Redigaffi is packed tight with sweet fruit, blackberry preserves, sweet spice and toasted oak. This is a fleshed out and generous expression with lots of proverbial fruit stuffing and volume. The oak aging regime includes 80% new wood and 20% neutral oak from various coopers, mostly sourcing from the tonnelleries Orion and de Mercurey. 'There is no single recipe. We want to add as many colors to the palette as possible,' says proprietor Stefano Frascolla. The idea is to maintain the identity of Merlot, he says, with muscle power and well-integrated tannins. The 2022 vintage accomplishes these goals in a package that is aromatic and rich yet also a little leaner and fresher in terms of finish. The overall message here is elegance.
