Lobenberg: Richebourg, die Legende. Eine perfekte Lage, vielleicht mit Romanée-Conti, Musigny und Chambertin die absolute Referenz Burgunds. Das beeindruckende an Grivots Richebourg ist, dass hier wie auch beim Village völlig auf neues Holz verzichtet wird. Das betont noch mehr die Exzellenz der Lage, die durch keinen Bruchteil Toasting überschminkt wird. Ein Monument und eine Lage, derer man im Weintrinkerleben und als Burgunderliebhaber wenigstens ein Mal in den Genuss gekommen sein muss. 98-99/100

Elegant and restrained, but with power in reserve, it’s subtle, chalky and complex with layer upon layer of flavour, vanilla oak sweetness and more tannins than you think. 97/100

-- Parker: The 2014 Richebourg Grand Cru has a quite compelling bouquet, as one is getting accustomed to chez Grivot. There are pure dark cherries, red plum and boysenberry fruit here, infused with fine mineralité and that sense of aristocracy one seeks in a Richebourg. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannin, wonderful acidity and beautifully integrated oak. There is great poise here, power hand in hand with elegance, a consummate Richebourg that will give a lot of pleasure over many years. 95-97/100

-- Burghound: A gorgeously spiced and perfumed nose is intensely floral in character while offering up notes of both red and dark currant, sandalwood, exotic Asian-style tea and discreet dried rose petal nuances. There are muscular yet refined big-bodied flavors that exude ample minerality onto the powerful, focused and once again compact, focused and explosively long finish. This too is indisputably built-to-age and I wouldn’t be surprised if it required fully 20 years before it is fully ready. In sum this Richebourg is one of the finest wines of the 2014 vintage. 94-97/100

-- Galloni: (45% new oak):Red-ruby color. Aromas of blackberry, licorice and crushed rock are complicated by a sexy note of charred oak. Not a particularly sweet style but savory and strong, boasting superb inner-mouth energy and lift. Finishes with powerful tongue-dusting tannins and a note of saline minerality. Das ist ein über alles erhabenes Duftbild und zeigt die Klasse und Grösse des Richebourg. Reich an den edelsten Düften mit einer lieblichen Fülle an Geschmack. Die absolute Feinheit, Eleganz, Zartheit in einer schwindelerregenden Fülle. Der ist irgendwie einfach zu trinken und dennoch so unglaublich komplex und füllig. Saftig und frisch, mit ultrafeinen Tanninen. Das überstrahlt einfach alles und beraubt einen aller Sinne. Allerhöchste Klasse! 20/20
