Lobenberg: Der Redoma Branco wird aus alten Weinbergen am rechten Douro-Ufer geerntet. Zwischen 400 und 600 Metern hoch gelegene Parzellen auf Glimmerschiefer-Böden. Der Höhepunkt der Lese lag 2019 zwischen dem 8. und 15. September. Im Weingut erfolgt eine strenge Selektion am Sortiertisch, dann langsames abpressen. Anschließend 24-stündige Sedimentation. Spontangärung in 228 Liter und 500 Liter Fässern aus französischem Holz und 6 monatiger Ausbau in den Fässern. In die Nase steigt eine feine, warme Zitrusfrucht, Quittenschale, Mandarine, grüne Aprikose, weißer Pfeffer, Minze, etwas Waldmeister. Helle Schieferwürze unterlegt das Ganze. Im Mund saftig und dicht mit schöner Frucht aus grüner Birne und Limettenzesten, feine mineralische Schärfe dazu, ätherische Kräuter. Floral und verspielt mit samtig-weichem Mundgefühl. Dennoch kein üppiger Wein, sondern im Gegenteil fast ein bisschen kühl wirkend mit hoher Frische und feinen Kräuternoten in der leicht grünlich unterlegten gelben Frucht. Fast moselanisch verspielt und trinkanimierend, kein Fett, früh gelesen und aus Hochlage stammend. Typischer Niepoort-Stil, Douro in knackig und doch anschmiegsam und fein. Sehr delikat, toller Wein. 93+/100

-- Suckling: A bright, vivid white with sliced-lemon, green-apple and some white-pineapple aromas and flavors. It’s medium-bodied with a tight palate and a bright, vivid finish. Stone and lemon rind at the end with just a hint of lemon curd. Drink now. 93/100

-- Parker: The 2019 Redoma Branco is a field blend from old vines featuring Rabigato, Códega, Viosinho, Donzelinho and others, aged for six months in 20% new French oak. It comes in very dry and at just 12.2% alcohol. This is another super Redoma Branco, which is easily one of the very best values in the Niepoort lineup every year. It's never a big and fat wine, so if that's what you're looking for, look away. It has wonderfully expressive fruit and a subtle concentration that is impressive, however. Plus, it has beautiful structure and persistent but controlled tension on the finish. It's always bright, never shrill, and it handles the modest wood well. There is a slight smoked-toast nuance, but not a lot. It's something to watch, or give this some air. This is a lot of wine for the money if you like the fresh and understated style. Niepoort always says these will age for a couple of decades. It probably will, but let's take that in stages. His track record of saying such things and backing it up has been pretty good, though, and I have seen some nicely developed and intriguing ones. There were 60,000 bottles produced from old vines (60 to 80 years). 92/100
