-- Parker: The 2019 Gouveio (by Joaninha) is unoaked, very dry and comes in at 13% alcohol. This is sourced from 15-year-old vines at 700 meters in altitude in Baixo Corgo. It hasn't been long since I first saw this, but even a few extra months in the bottle has changed it and given a clearer idea of where it is going. Powerful, intense and precise, this has reasonable concentration, but its energy is what you will most admire. It will really show better later in 2021 than it does today, as the fruit needs to reassert itself. It has actually closed down a bit, and it did not drink well until the next day. It seems to have a pretty good chance to age well, perhaps better than anticipated. There were 2,000 bottles produced. 92/100
