Geronimo
-- Weingut: A citrus colour – like straw yellow – actually very characteristic of this wine, because Sercial (the varietal), whose grape has such a close connection between the pulp and the skin, originates wines with strong colour palettes. Initially, the aroma is still close and austere, something very common in its older brothers; but with time and higher temperatures, we start to feel the salt, the white fruit pulp, lots of pear, lime, gunpowder and a slight note of dried fruits. In the mouth, it is an explosion of freshness, clearly revealing the potential of the whites of Portocarro, being quite close to the Atlantic! Still shy, mysterious, with lots to reveal yet … As with all whites from Portocarro it has no wood. However, its finale is long and fresh, and one feels the presence of Sercial tannins. It was conceived to have a long life and to evolve in the bottle. That is why we have hardly manipulated it, so that this Geronimo, like the American Indian who inspired his name, is also indomitable. Made for festive dates, where we celebrate family, friendship and all that we cherish. And because this is a serious matter … as background ambience, we suggest you revisit Lou Reed’s old hits (such as Perfect Day, for instance)… while Geronimo reveals itself…
