-- Parker: The 2012 Echezeaux Grand Cru is open and garrulous on the nose brimming over with ripe red cherries, wild strawberry and bergamot scents that are beautifully defined. The palate is very structured but you do not notice that thanks to the candied fruit on the entry that zips about the mouth, electrifying the senses and leaving it with a daring citrus kiss on the vivacious finish. Oh la la. 94-95/100

Galloni über: Echezeaux Grand Cru

-- Galloni: Bright, deep red. Knockout nose combines red berries, coffee, tobacco, crushed rock, smoke, flowers and minerals. Like liquid silk on the palate, delivering an uncanny combination of seamlessness and verve. Compellingly sappy wine with a strong note of purple flowers. With its superb juicy thrust, this really titillates the salivary glands. The Clos Vougeot is more minerally and taut, while this is more sensual and refined. (Tanzer) 93-96/100

-- Burghound: An extraordinarily spicy, fresh and ripe nose features notes of dark pinot fruit, floral, sandalwood and exotic pekoe tea. There is excellent phenolic maturity to the supporting structure that is remarkably fine-grained which adds to the overall sense of refinement present on the delicious yet powerful and altogether serious middle weight plus flavors that terminate in a gorgeously persistent finish. Like the Clos de Vougeot this is going to require ample cellaring for it to reveal its full, and considerable, potential. 94/100
