Lobenberg: Nur durch eine schmale Straße vom Kraftmeier 'Richebourg' getrennt, überragendes Terroir. Für diesen 1er Cru wird nur der obere Teil der Brulee-Lage verwendet, die Pflanzen sind klar über 60 Jahre alt, der untere Teil findet sich im Vosne Romanee Village wieder. Wunderschöne Dichte. Röstaromatik mit großer Feinheit. Frische Zwetschge, Herzkirsche, ein Hauch gelber Frucht, reife Melone, Brombeere, Veilchen und ein Hauch Exotik. Schöne Mineralität, Steinsalz, feine Würze zeigend, das Terroir mir seinem hohen Kalkgehalt perfekt spiegelnd. Sehr aromatisch und gleichzeitig dicht. Nicht so warm und rund und massiv wie 2009. Die Sauerkirsche ist feiner. Hohe Intensität im Mund. Tolle Mineralität im Mund, feine Länge. Extrem viel Grip, mehr als der Clos d'Eugenie, kommt aber nicht als massive Frucht, sondern ist einfach nur ultralang. Der Wein singt. Hört gar nicht auf...dabei immer superfein bleibend. Und soooo rassig! Wenn 2009 samtig war, ist dieser Wein nur seidig, rassig, zeigt tollen Nerv. Extrem balanciert. ziemliche Perfektion in Vosne Romanee. Ein Jahrgang, der weder mit dem runden, warmen 2009er noch mit dem ultraklassischen 2008er zu vergleichen ist. 2012 ist DAS, wovon letztlich alle träumen. Perfekter, feiner Burgunder. Braucht noch Zeit und wird für Jahrzehnte fantastisch schmecken. 97-98+/100

-- Burghound: Relatively strong reduction flattens the nose but the underlying fruit appears to be quite ripe. This impression of ripeness is enhanced by the presence of phenolically mature tannins that shape the fleshy and intensely mineral-driven middle weight flavors that possess a refreshing salinity on the balanced finish. This is an elegant wine as the tannins are quite fine-grained and I very much like the persistence. In a word, terrific. 91-94/100

-- Parker: The 2012 Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru Aux Brûlées comes from the domaine's 1.14-hectare of vine that in 2012 yielded just four barrels, three new and the other 1-year old. It has a perfumed, floral bouquet with heady scents of dark cherries, black plum and minerals that unfurl in the glass, the oak present but embroidered into the fruit. The palate is underpinned by filigree tannins, silky smooth dark cherry and cassis fruit that build towards a gently caressing cashmere finish that lingers in the mouth. This is a sophisticated Aux Brûlées that should age over 15 to 20 years. 91-93/100

IWC über: Vosne Romanee 1er Cru Aux Brulees

-- IWC: (vinified with one-third whole clusters): Deep medium ruby. Blackberry, violet and minerals on the nose. A step up in intensity and precision from the village wines, but youthfully tight and bound-up today, showing primary flavors of black fruits and bitter chocolate. Very firm tannins suggest energetic extraction. This will require a minimum of five years of aging upon release. 90-92/100
